Beef cattle is a kind of cattle mainly producing beef. It not only provides meat products for people, but also provides other non-staple foods for people. In China, there are Simmental cattle, Charolais cattle, Limousin cattle and other fine varieties. Artificial breeding of cows is an important means to improve herds. Let's take a look at beef cattle artificial breeding technology and precautions together!

Optimum breeding age for beef cattle

1. Beef cattle are 10~12 months old after birth, and cross beef cattle are 12~15 months old. Bulls can produce fertilized eggs, and cows can discharge mature eggs. Maturity does not mean that it can be used for reproduction, because at this time the beef cattle body is not fully mature, if reproduction not only affects the growth and development of beef cattle itself, but also the quality of the offspring born is inferior.

2. Beef cattle have the inherent appearance of adult beef cattle, which is called mature body. Body maturity can participate in breeding, general beef cattle body maturity is 1.5~2 years old, hybrid beef cattle is 2.5 years old, dairy cattle about 15~22 months old. However, due to different beef breeds, feeding management and climatic conditions, the possibility of promoting and delaying body maturity is very high.

Artificial Breeding Technique of Beef Cattle

1. Cow Baoding: The inseminated cow is brought into the breeding rack for Baoding. When the operation is skilled, it may not be Baoding. In addition, hang the tail of the cow with a string, wash the vulva of the cow with clean water, or disinfect and dry it with 2% lysol or 0.1% potassium permanganate solution.

2. Semen thawing: Prepare warm water of 37~42℃, take out a thin tube from the liquid nitrogen tank with tweezers, immerse it in warm water, shake it gently for about 10 times, wipe the water droplets on the surface of the thin tube, cut off the seal, put the end with plug down into the gun, put on the jacket and tighten it.

3. Sperm infusion method: one hand is inserted into the rectum to grasp the cervix through the intestinal wall, the arm is pressed down to open the vulva, and the other hand is inserted obliquely upward from the vulva and then inserted downward until it is inserted into the junction between the cervix and the uterine body. The sperm infusion gun can be withdrawn at the same time as the injection. In order to ensure the fertility rate, compound once every other day.

Beef cattle breeding precautions

1. Primary mating age: Large beef cattle breeds such as Simmental cattle and Charolais cattle must be over 1.5 years old, with skeleton and weight reaching more than 70% of adult cattle, and small beef cattle breeds or indigenous cattle must be over 1 year old, with skeleton and weight reaching more than 60% of adult cattle.

2. Frozen sperm selection: smaller cows or primary cows should not choose bulls that exceed 2 times their body size and weight. Larger cows or multiparous cattle can be bred with purebred bulls or frozen sperm, but the size and weight of bulls should not exceed 3 times that of cows.

3, breeding time: the actual breeding process ovulation time is not easy to master, generally according to the oestrus time for breeding, morning estrus (accept fear of crossing) afternoon breeding, afternoon estrus the next morning for breeding. In order to improve the breeding rate, compound can be used.

4. Pre-mating inspection: Both bulls and cows must undergo health inspection before mating to prevent cross-infection diseases. In case of brucellosis, breeding should not be carried out and elimination should be carried out directly.

5. Equipment disinfection: In the case of artificial insemination, the insemination equipment must be checked before insemination to see if it can be used normally. At the same time, strict disinfection should be carried out to prevent cross-infection diseases.
