Tortoise farming can be said to be an emerging breeding industry, and according to the editor, there are dozens of species of turtles, including ornamental turtles, edible turtles and pet turtles, and the economic benefits of turtle farming in different directions will be different, so tortoise farms are usually multi-breed, which can improve the economic benefits of tortoise farming. So what are the problems that turtles need to pay attention to when breeding? The following is the common problems in breeding sorted out by the editor of the pro-agricultural network, which you can refer to.

1. Culture environment

The culture environment is a problem that must be paid attention to, because it is the basis for the survival of turtles. What should be paid attention to in the culture environment is the management of water depth, water quality, water temperature and the establishment of habitat and entertainment places in the pond. Usually, the depth of the water only needs to cover the turtle shell, and the second is that the water needs to be changed every three to five days to maintain the quality of the water in the pond. at the same time, some duckweed and algae can be planted in the water, which can be used to purify the water quality. the temperature of the water in the pond should be about 25 degrees, too high or too low. Finally, they are built with stones or river sand in the pool to allow them to rest, bask in the sun and exercise.

2. Feeding and management

The feeding of turtles is related to their growth rate and health, so we need to feed them according to the different periods of their growth. In the period of young turtles, we mainly feed them with special turtle food. as long as we feed some small fish and shrimp in an appropriate amount, we need to feed about five to six times a day, not much each time, because the young turtles do not have very serious stomach diseases. this not only wastes food but also pollutes water quality. For adult turtles, we mainly feed fish, shrimp and meat, and many people will feed rice, bread and so on. These foods are very difficult for turtles to digest, so try to feed them less. The last thing to pay attention to is to fish out the remaining feed residue in time after they have finished eating.

3. Daily management

The daily management of turtles is actually very simple, one of which is very important but is often ignored by many farmers. That is, in the process of turtle breeding, we have to bathe the turtle and wash its shell from time to time, because there is a lot of dirt on their body, and it is easy to breed bacteria if they are not cleaned up, which eventually leads to the decay of the shell. Secondly, we also need to monitor the amount of exercise the tortoise does every day, because some turtles are lazy, and finally, don't change the turtle's feed casually, so that it can't adapt to each other, resulting in gastrointestinal discomfort.

4. Disease control

The tortoise is very resistant and does not get sick easily, but it does not rule out special circumstances, such as heatstroke or cold when the temperature is too high or too low, as well as parasites, bacteria and virus infection in the pool. So we need to disinfect the pool frequently and give the turtle a little Su, which can be disinfected with potassium permanganate solution. The second is to add oxytetracycline or other antibiotics to the feed to prevent common diseases, and finally to pay attention to whether the environment around the farm is polluted and strengthen the management of the pond.
