The hare is a common wild animal. It likes to live in mixed forests with water and trees, and sandy desert areas in grassland areas, especially in the prickly young forests of Robinia pseudoacacia. It is very flexible, has longer legs and ears than rabbits, lives alone or in pairs, and has no ground holes. Let's take a look at the difference between rabbits and rabbits by running fast to escape danger.

Body type

The rabbit is larger, generally weighing more than 3.5 kg, up to 8 kg. And the hare is relatively much smaller, generally weighing about 2.5 kilograms, the largest is 3.5 kilograms, 4 kilograms of hares are very few.

Appearance

Rabbits have shorter ears and larger bodies than hares, but they have longer forelimbs and tails. In fact, this is also convenient for them to escape in the wild, because rabbits are at the bottom of the food chain, and the wild environment is very dangerous for them. so they need sharper hearing and more developed limbs, and rabbits don't have them.

Chromosomes

There are 22 pairs of chromosomes in rabbits and 24 pairs in rabbits, with a difference of 2 pairs, and the genetic relationship between them is even lower than that between horses and donkeys (32 pairs of chromosomes in the former and 31 pairs in the latter), which means that they cannot be matched.

Reproduction

After being domesticated and bred for a long time, rabbits have become animals with high reproductive performance. The gestation period is 30 days and can give birth to 6-10 babies per month. On the other hand, the hare gives birth to only one litter a year, giving birth to 480 cubs a year.

Young rabbit

The newborn rabbits of the rabbit belong to the late mature sex, the whole body is naked and hairless at birth, the eyes and ears are not open, and they are basically unable to move. They can't adjust their body temperature by themselves. They don't open their eyes until about 15 days, and they can eat a small amount of alfalfa and go out with the female rabbits for about 20 days. On the other hand, the newborn rabbit babies of the hare, on the contrary, belong to precocious sex. They are born with hair all over the body, eyes can see, ears can hear, can walk 3 days after birth, and can eat on their own.
