What should be done about anthrax in cattle?
Bovine anthrax is mainly an acute and severe infectious disease caused by anthrax virus, which can be transmitted to many animals and even humans. The incidence of bovine anthracnose is very urgent, and the onset period is very short. Within a week, one diseased cow can be killed and transmitted to the rest of the cattle. If it is not treated in a timely manner, all the cattle in the barn may not be spared. What are the symptoms of anthrax infection? How to prevent and cure it? Let's take a look at it.
1. Cause of occurrence
The main cause of the disease is farmed animals that are already sick. No matter what animal is infected with anthrax, it can easily transmit the disease to nearby animals. When in bacteremia, the bacteria will be excreted from the bovine body through feces, urine and even saliva and blood. If the diseased cattle are not treated in time, the pollution to the environment will be particularly great. And cattle eat moldy feed or spoiled water, contaminated will be harmful to the digestive tract, so that cattle infected with digestive tract diseases, followed by the occurrence of anthrax. And in places where anthrax is more popular, dry and rainy weather is also very beneficial to the incidence of anthrax.
2. Clinical diagnosis
Despite the fact that all cattle are so big, cattle are very susceptible to disease. The incubation period of anthrax is about three different clinical types within a week.
The most acute type: this symptom will suddenly fall to the ground when you can't see the symptoms of the sick cow, twitching all over the body, breathing loudly, especially rapidly, cyanosis in the mucous membrane, dark red blood will flow out of the mouth, and will be unable to breathe in a few minutes and suffocate to death.
Acute type: the body temperature of the sick cow will suddenly rise to more than 40 degrees, with round eyes, fidgeting, restless running, accompanied by this howling, it will be weak in half an hour, and it is very difficult to breathe. There are jelly substances and even blood in the feces. Pregnant cattle will lead to miscarriage and will die within one to two days. The body will naturally bleed through holes and the blood will not clot.
Subacute type: the subacute type is the slowest of the three symptoms. The diseased cow has hard swelling in the chest, breast, anus and other places. At the initial stage, the cow will howl because of pain and can feel higher calories. Acute symptoms occur after a few hours, and necrosis occurs in the hard swelling area after a few days, but the course of the disease can last up to a week.
3. Treatment methods
It is found that diseased cattle or carcasses should be immediately transported to at least one kilometer away from the barn for deep burial or burning. There is no effective treatment for diseased cattle, only to prevent the rest of the cattle from being infected. Destroy all the utensils (troughs) that the sick cattle have come into contact with, disinfect the barn, and thoroughly disinfect the barn with hot alkali water and bleach. At least three times at intervals of up to one hour. Give the rest of the cattle anti-anthrax serum, according to the instructions to determine the dosage, cattle should be regularly injected with non-toxic anthrax spore vaccine to prevent.
After getting sick, cattle must be carefully examined to prevent further deterioration. If it is anthrax, not only the rest of the cattle and barns should be disinfected. I also want to go through myself completely, because as I said earlier, not only livestock can be infected, but also have a very strong attack on people. Therefore, before ensuring that the cattle are sterile, you should disinfect yourself and wear anti-bacterial clothing when dealing with diseased cattle. Anthrax is so terrible that if it is not treated in time, it may lead to the death of all cattle. I hope everyone will pay attention to it, and I also hope that the editor's article will be helpful to you.
