Feeding and management methods of piglets
Piglets are newborn piglets, and pig raising is very common in all parts of our country. Piglets produced by sows can be prepared for backup sows after taking good care of and growing up. However, piglets are very weak after birth, and many farmers will die young, resulting in a great loss of their own economic interests. Therefore, it is necessary to have a correct management method after the birth of piglets in order to effectively ensure the survival rate of piglets. So how to manage piglets correctly? Let's take a look at it.
1. Keep warm while sucking.
After the birth of piglets, the first thing is to supplement adequate nutrition for piglets, so after birth, all piglets should be given enough colostrum to improve their resistance. Colostrum refers to the endocrine breast milk of sows about five days after delivery. Colostrum is very beneficial to the growth of piglets because colostrum contains a lot of immune antibodies such as proteins and vitamins. It can not only improve the digestive ability of piglets, but also enhance the disease resistance of piglets. Piglets should be kept warm within 20 days after birth. The suitable growth temperature of piglets is about 30 degrees, and the temperature can be reduced to about 25 degrees after weaning.
2. Timely weaning
Pay attention to weaning the piglets when they grow to about a month, let the piglets live in the pen for about a week, the sows stay in the rest of the pen, and then drive the piglets into the nursery. Let the piglets gradually adapt to the environment without breast milk, feed the piglets properly during weaning and let them eat freely. During separate feeding, choices should be made according to piglets' living habits such as body size and eating conditions. If the growth of some piglets is not ideal, you can let them eat breast milk for a longer period of time and wait until they are strong before they are weaned.
3. Iron supplementation for young food
After the piglets are born, there is less iron in the body, and there is not enough iron to guarantee the growth of the piglets. Iron supplement should be carried out for piglets within 3 days after birth, otherwise diseases such as iron deficiency anemia may occur in the later growth of piglets. And in order to prevent and cure diarrhea, piglets should be induced to eat at the age of 4 days, and feed should be put in the pigpen to allow them to eat freely. This can effectively improve the body weight of piglets, enhance the body immunity, and with the increase of growth days of piglets, the appropriate amount of increase.
4. Management of pig conservation
Conservation pig refers to within two and a half months after weaning, although the care pig has a certain ability to adapt to the environment, but compared with adult pigs, it has not yet met the requirements. Therefore, in the period of pig conservation, special attention should be paid to some daily management, such as pig house feeding density, disease prevention and so on. Keep the temperature at about 25 degrees, and then the feeding density must not be too dense, otherwise it will cause pig fights and various diseases. Pigs should be fed in time after weaning, but they should not be overfed because the autonomous digestive system is not yet perfect. Gradually increase the proportion of feed every day, and it will be almost free to eat after two weeks.
The above four points are a brief introduction to the feeding and management methods of piglets. When raising piglets, we should pay attention to the weakness of piglets. It is necessary to take good care of piglets, control the surrounding environment and raise them separately to prevent sows from biting or trampling on piglets. Good management of piglets is the key to ensure that they can continue to "carry on the family line" and to ensure their own economic interests. This article is for reference only.
