Did you read the geranium pruning last time? With such a ruthless hand, it's a pity to trim off a pile of branches and throw it away. Why not cut it up and change it into two or four so that the balcony of the coming year will become a sea of flowers?

In order to cuttage, we must first prepare the seedling tray and medium.

The seedling tray is as follows

The medium I use vermiculite, rice husk charcoal, coconut bran, peat, the proportion is not sure, usually mixed with what is on hand.

After filling the seedling tray with the medium, pour through the water and press tightly with your fingers. This is very important, be sure to press tight, so that there is no air between the media, which can improve the rooting rate. Of course, you can also plug it in and press it again.

If there are many varieties, don't forget to label them.

When the preliminary work is ready, the next step is to select the branches and cut off a bunch of branches. which one is more appropriate?

Geranium cuttings select the green branches in the upper part of the branches, and the rooting rate is relatively high. The lower the branches, the higher the degree of Lignification, and it is not easy to root.

If you look at the picture below, this kind of green branch is the best choice.

Cut off two or three segments to make a cuttage, the lower incision 45 degrees oblique cut, the upper incision flat cut

Deal with the insert in this way and insert it next to each other.

After inserting it, put it in a cool and ventilated place, and I placed it in a place where the sun could not shine directly against the wall of the terrace. Remember to water, foliar spray, watering not every day, can be two or three days. Spray water once in the morning, once in the evening.

It will take about a month and a half to take root. I will report back to you later when I take root and transplant. Let's take a look at the vibrant scene after the cuttings took root last year.

What is going on today is the reproduction of life. Looking at so many green cuttings, you can fantasize about the splendor of next spring flowers.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Share it with friends who love flowers.
