Crab claw orchid usually begins to bud around the middle of October. But if you want the crab claw orchid to blossom, you need to master the method, here are the methods for you to introduce!

(1) adjust the light and temperature

Crab claw orchid is a short-day plant, it needs to receive at least 8 hours of light every day, and the temperature is controlled at about 20 ℃. Keeping this light and temperature, the plant can show buds in more than 20 days. From September, it is necessary to maintain the balcony or windowsill with sufficient light, and pay attention to control the appropriate temperature at the same time. If you move into the room for maintenance in winter, you should also put it in a place with sufficient light and keep the temperature at about 20 ℃, not less than 15 ℃, which is beneficial to the bud appearance of the plant.

If you want to advance the florescence to National Day, shade the sun at the end of July and the beginning of August, and avoid the light from 4pm to 8am every day. Delayed flowering can put the bud-colored crab claw orchid in an environment of about 5 ℃, which will enter a semi-dormant state, reduce the bud expansion speed, and prolong the florescence of crab claw orchid for about 15 days.

(2) strengthen the management of fertilizer and water

Flowering needs nutrients and water, so increase fertilization, maintain sufficient moisture, watering should keep the basin soil slightly wet, watering topsoil should be dry after watering, large and small water wheel watering, do not continuously water, dry thoroughly 2 or 3 times a month, increase water spraying in sunny and warm weather to create a humid environment.

Fertilization can increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, can be fully mature chicken manure and pigeon manure and other phosphorus, potassium fertilizer more fertilizer, thin fertilizer frequently, can be watered once every 3-5 days, remember to apply thick fertilizer.

(3)。 Prune new stem nodes in time

Crab claw orchid in the bud period, if it is found that a new stem node occurs, it needs to be pinched off in time, young stem nodes should also be pinched off, to avoid the consumption of nutrients, can maintain nutrients to provide to the bud, otherwise it will delay the budding time and affect the number of flowers.
