Treatment of peony seedlings before potting

1. Wash the roots with clean water

First of all, observe the root system of peony seedlings, carefully observe whether there are mildew spots (mildew spots are also normal). If you find mildew spots, you can first rinse with water, mildew spots rinse clean.

Of course, if no mildew spots are found, you can also rinse with clean water to be on the safe side.

2. Root trimming

After washing off the mildew spots on the peony roots, the next step is to prune the roots. The method of pruning the root system is directly related to the size of the flowerpot we choose.

Different flowerpot pruning methods are different, the general principle is that the pot should hold the root of the peony, because the root of the peony tends to be stout.

3. Sterilization and disinfection

After root trimming, sterilization and disinfection should be carried out. If disinfection is not done, the wound should be dried in a cool place first. Do not plant it directly after root trimming. It is easy for the wound to be infected.

It is suggested that after trimming the roots of the peony, the peony should do a sterilization treatment by the way.

Prepare 1 ‰ methyl topiramate and rooting powder solution, soak all the roots of tree peony in the solution for 1-2 hours. This can not only disinfect the roots of tree peony, but also supplement auxin and promote the growth of new roots after peony planting.

4. Dry the wound

After soaking the fungicide, take the peony to a cool and ventilated place to dry before planting, do not soak the seed. If it is not dried, the roots of peony can be planted with fine soil mixed with thiophanate, which can play a protective role and prevent the roots of peony from being infected with pathogens.
