Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Plant differentiation: the cat's eye grass plant is short, about 30 to 60 cm; the cat ear grass plant is high, about 0.5 to 1.5 meters. The leaf shape of the former is linear to ovate, while that of the latter is oval or oval. Flower differentiation: the seed character of the former is ovoid and the latter is oblate.

First, the difference of plants

Cat's eye grass plant is short, about 30 to 60 centimeters long, relatively slender, about 3 to 6 millimeters in diameter, brown or dark brown in color.

The plant of Saxifraga is on the high side, with a height of about 0.5 to 1.5 meters. It takes root under the stem and is covered with puberulent hairs.

Second, the difference of leaves

Cat's eye grass leaves are relatively changeable in shape, linear to ovate, about 2 to 7 cm in length and 4 to 7 mm in width.

Saxifraga leaves are ovate or oval in shape, about 1.5 to 5 cm in length and 1 to 4 cm in width, with hairs on both sides of the leaf.

Third, the difference of seeds

The seeds of cat's eye grass are ovoid in shape, about 2.5 to 3.0 mm in length, and the fruiting period is about September to October.

There are generally four seeds of Saxifraga, which are oblate in shape, and the fruiting period is about July to November.
