Last Updated: 2024/11/05, There are many reasons for the blackening of orchid leaves: if it is caused by low temperature, it should be maintained indoors in winter and the temperature should be raised appropriately. If it is caused by strong light, it needs to be exposed to scattered light and shaded at noon in summer. If it is caused by improper watering, it needs to be watered appropriately, and the high temperature can be watered every day. If it is caused by improper fertilization, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied to it, and ten centimeters away from the root, not too close, when fertilizing.

I. adjust the temperature

Reason: the orchid is not hardy. If it is attacked by low temperature, its roots and branches will stop working and the leaf tip will turn black.

Solution: move it to a warm place in winter to avoid frostbite. Don't rush to move out in spring, because the temperature in early spring is unstable and there is often a cold snap. Wait for the temperature to stabilize completely, and then move it outside.

2. Proper shading

Reason: it does not like strong light. If it is directly illuminated by the strong sun, it will blacken the leaf tip.

Solution: it needs to be exposed to astigmatism and shaded properly when the sun is high at noon. The sunshine in winter is relatively short, and the sun is not strong, so there is no need for shade, so it can accept sunshine all day long.

Third, rational watering

Reason: orchids are not resistant to waterlogging, too much watering is easy to make the basin soil stagnant water, will affect its root respiration, leaf tips will be black.

Solution: watering should not be excessive, once a day when the temperature is high, and once every two days when the temperature is low.

Fourth, reduce fertilization

Reason: orchids do not like thick fertilizer, thick fertilizer is easy to burn roots, there are health problems, the leaf tip will turn black.

Solution: fertilization should be light fertilizer, fertilization should be about ten centimeters away from the root, so that the root will not be burned. When watering, pour water on the fertilizer and let the water spread with the fertilizer so that it can be absorbed.
