How to manage Chinese yam well
Chinese yam is what we often call Huai Mountain, which has the effects of nourishing, digesting and improving sleep. Now there are many ways of Chinese yam, which are crispy and waxy and suitable for most people. The output of yam planting is not too high, or even can not meet the needs of the market, a large part of the reason is that growers do not have a complete grasp of the management technology of growing yam, let the pro-agricultural network to tell you how to manage the yam in the field.
1. Ploughing and weeding
In the process of yam growth, we need to carry out inter-tillage weeding many times, one of which is to remove weeds and reduce nutrient loss in the field, and the other is to enhance soil permeability, which can promote tuber growth. Weeding needs to be carried out at least four times a year. First of all, we can weed according to the growth of weeds, and secondly, we need to weed according to the growth of yam seedlings.
2. Erection management
Although the part of yam can be used is its tuber, and the tuber is located in the middle of the soil, many growers will ignore the management of yam seedlings and allow them to crawl on the ground, which has a great impact on the growth of yam tubers. First of all, the occupation is densely covered on the soil, which makes the soil permeability worse, and the second is that it is very easy to cause all kinds of diseases, resulting in plant withering or decay, so we have to build a frame for Chinese yam management. Generally, Chinese yam seedlings start to build up when they first grow out of about 10 centimeters, and each plant needs a support next to it. When the plant grows to a certain extent, if it does not grow along the support, then we also need to manually help the seedlings up. Finally, the stent can not be reused, because it is likely to carry bacteria and affect plant growth.
3. Water and fertilizer management
Chinese yam has a strong ability to resist drought, but it is not resistant to waterlogging, so it basically does not need to be watered all the year round, only once or twice at most. In case of a dry year, it needs to be watered twice on top of the original one. Finally, for example, in Hunan, there are more Rain Water in summer, so we must discharge the water in time, otherwise it will lead to anthrax, blight, leaf blight, soft rot and other fungal diseases. As for fertilization in addition to the annual base fertilizer, it is still necessary to carry out two or three times of topdressing, in which the ultimate need is to promote the growth of tuber potash and boron fertilizer must grasp the scale, the average per mu of potash fertilizer about 100 jin, boron fertilizer about 30 jin.
4. Disease control
The prevention and control of diseases and insect pests of Chinese yam is mainly based on prevention, in which the peak of the occurrence of diseases and insect pests is around June and July in summer. because of high temperature and high humidity, fungal diseases spread rapidly, so at least three to four insecticides and fungicides should be carried out, but it should be noted that spraying should be stopped about a month before harvest, and only low-toxic pesticides can be sprayed even if you want to spray, and absolutely not in the first ten days of harvest.
