Planting time and method of Sweet Pepper
Sweet pepper has high nutritional value and is used very much in our lives, and many of the vegetable peppers we usually see in the vegetable market are also caused by sweet peppers. The color and shape of sweet peppers are very good-looking and are often used as side dishes. And there are a lot of people to eat it raw, the vitamin content is very high. Today, the editor of the pro-agricultural network brings you the planting method of sweet pepper, the partners in need can pay attention to us.
Planting time
The best temperature for sweet pepper seed germination is about 15 to 30 degrees. The planting time of sweet pepper can be chosen according to the temperature. Secondly, there is a certain gap between climate and temperature in different regions of our country. Therefore, the planting time of sweet pepper is not clearly specified. For example, precocious sweet pepper we can plant it every winter from late December to January of the following year. Secondly, it is possible to plant in August every year, because it can be planted when the temperature is right.
Planting method
1. Soil preparation and fertilization
We need to prepare the soil before sowing. Sweet pepper is more suitable for planting in the sandy soil where the soil is fertile and contains a lot of organic matter. Of course, we can also choose loess or black soil, and the second is that the soil should not be too sticky. Especially the kind of soil that cannot be drained by rainfall must not be planted. When preparing the soil, we should spread a layer of livestock manure evenly. Then fill up the potholes in the field, refine the soil, and finally make ridges and ditches according to a width of 60 centimeters and a height of 30 centimeters, and then wait for sowing.
2. Sowing and raising seedlings
Sweet pepper we generally need to sow seedlings, and then transplant, because the growth rate of sweet pepper is different, so unified seedling breeding is beneficial to our later stage in the field. Before raising seedlings, we need to germinate the seeds with warm water, the water temperature should not be higher than 50 degrees, soak them for a day or so, then remove them and rinse them with clean water, and place them in a suitable environment for germination. Generally, the seeds can be sowed in about three to five days. When sowing, wet the seedbed first, then sow the seeds evenly, then cover it with a layer of organic fertilizer, and finally cover it with a layer of plastic film to keep warm and moisturizing.
3. Rational planting
Under normal circumstances, seedlings will emerge in about five days, and then when the sweet pepper seedlings grow to about 15 centimeters, we can transplant. We dig out the cultivated sweet pepper seedlings with the soil, which can improve the survival rate, and then plant them at a distance of 30 centimeters per row and 25 to 30 centimeters apart per plant. After planting, if the temperature is low, plastic film can also be used for heat preservation. The second is that it needs to be watered after planting, which is beneficial to the growth of its roots.
4. Field management
About a week after planting, we have to observe the growth of sweet pepper in the field. If there is a lack of seedlings or dead seedlings, we should replenish the seedlings and plant them in time. About seven to ten days after planting, we need to carry out the first time with weeding and combined with fertilization, this fertilization is to promote the growth of sweet pepper seedlings, so we usually use feces and urine and add appropriate amount of urea to irrigate. Before the sweet pepper enters the flowering stage, we also need to loosen the soil and weed, and wait until after entering the flowering stage for the second fertilization, mainly potash fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer, which is carried out by spraying and way. finally, when the sweet pepper has the size of the thumb, we need to spray the right amount of foliar fertilizer. Each fertilization must be combined with watering, which is conducive to nutrient absorption and dilution of nutrient concentration, so that sweet pepper can grow better.
