Now there are many people who may not know them, but for our previous generation, they are a kind of delicacy in their lives, and they can be seen everywhere in the countryside, some of them are planted and some are wild. At that time, digging for turtles was also a kind of childhood pleasure. Now the stewed head is mainly used for pickling and used as kimchi, the taste is also very good, but because the smell is a little strong, so many people can only eat secretly at home. Well, what the pro-agricultural network wants to share with you today is the planting time of the head and its planting method. If you like, you can collect it.

Planting time

The vitality of the mackerel is relatively tenacious, in fact, it can be planted all the year round, but if it is planted between September and October every year, the yield and quality are excellent, especially if it still needs to be planted. If the planting time is too early or too late, then the quality of planting will have certain defects, resulting in poor yield and quality in the second year. So we usually finish sowing between the beginning of September and the first ten days of October.

Planting method

1. Soil preparation and fertilization

It is a wet plant, but there can be no stagnant water in the field. during soil preparation, we have to level the land, fill the potholes with soil, and open ditches at a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters in the middle. it is more convenient for drainage and later management. Finally, it is necessary to apply enough base fertilizer and sprinkle an average of 2,000 jin of livestock manure per mu.

2. Reasonable close planting

First of all, we need to screen out the seeds of the oysters, select the seeds of uniform size, and then separate the tubers and trench them according to the spacing of 15 to 20 centimeters in each row on the whole land, with a depth of 8 centimeters and a width of about 10 centimeters. Then put the head up neatly according to the distance of 10 centimeters from each plant, and then cover the seeds with thin soil, in order to promote the germination speed of the head. We can cover it with a layer of withered grass or dried manure from livestock, or we can use plastic film instead.

3. Field management

If you use plastic film, you need to uncover the film immediately after the ground breaks out, otherwise, it will cause the seedlings to burn out. A week later, observe whether there is a lack of seedlings in the field, you think, if there is a need to replenish seedlings in time, ensure that seedlings are complete, and water them after replenishment, which can ensure the survival rate. When the seedlings grow to about 15 centimeters, if the seedlings in the field look yellow, then it means that the nutrients in the soil are insufficient, and topdressing is needed. The most fertilizer can be irrigated with the right amount of urea mixed with fecal and urine water. The effect is excellent. Weeds in the field can be weeded by ploughing and weeding at the seedling stage, but the weeds can only be pulled when the head of the grass grows to a certain extent. In addition, the fields should be watered from time to time, and the soil moisture should be kept at about 70%.

4. Pest control

Because scallions and chives also have some similarities, they are basically the same in diseases and insect pests. The most important diseases are downy mildew and purple spot, while the main pests are thrips and leaf miners. Its disease can be controlled by cleaning up debris in the field and draining ditches when it is hot and rainy in summer. if it is serious, Bordeaux liquid or chlorothalonil can be used to control it. While thrips and leaf miners, we can use deltamethrin for root irrigation or spray.
