Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Sudden fall and blight are the main diseases in the seedling stage of herbaceous flowers. Cockscomb flower, red string, marigold, flat-top impatiens and so on are very easy to be infected with this disease. The two pathogens are different, the main pathogen of quenching disease is Rhizoctonia solani, and the main pathogen of Rhizoctonia solani is Rhizoctonia solani, but their control methods are similar.

Damping-off and seedling blight are the main diseases of herbaceous flowers in seedling stage, cockscomb, red string, marigold and flat-topped impatiens are easy to be infected by this disease. The pathogen of damping-off was Pythium melonicum, and Rhizoctonia solani was the main pathogen of blight, but their control methods were similar. The main manifestations and preventive measures of the two diseases are described below:

Damping-off disease is the main disease of herbaceous flowers at seedling stage of seed germination. When seedlings are infected, the stem base on the ground or under the ground presents water-stained spots, then the diseased parts turn brown, continue to expand around the stem, tissue necrosis, seedling lodging. When humidity is not high, white cotton flocculent hyphae grow near diseased plants. Rhizoctonia solani can be damaged from seedling to planting, dark brown spots appear at the base of stem, gradually sunken, contracted at the diseased part, when the diseased part extends to a circle around the stem, the plant stands upright and dies, generally not lodging.

There are mainly the following prevention measures

(1)Soak seeds with 50% carbendazim wettable powder mixed with 500 times water for 1 hour;

(2)The substrate used for seedling cultivation is sprayed with 95% Lvheng No.1 3000 times solution for sterilization;

(3)Sowing quantity should not be too large; bottom water should be irrigated properly when sowing, neither excessive nor excessive, and no watering is needed after sowing to before the core is spit; high temperature and high humidity should be avoided in the breeding place; diseased seedlings and surrounding seedlings should be eliminated in time when disease is discovered;

(4)At the early stage of damping-off disease, spray 450 times solution of 15% hymexidon; spray 1000 times solution of 20% chlorphos methyl emulsifiable concentrate (lichen); spray 800 times solution of 72.2% prochloraz and 800 times solution of 50% thiram wettable powder under the condition of simultaneous occurrence of damping-off disease and damping-off. Spray 2 to 3 kilograms of liquid medicine per square meter.

The above is the introduction of the performance and prevention measures of the two diseases of herbaceous flowers, and I hope everyone can harvest!

Control of damping-off and blight of herbaceous flowers

(3) The sowing amount should not be too large; the bottom water should be poured properly when sowing, neither excessive, but also to ensure that there is no need to water after sowing until the heart is spit; avoid the occurrence of high temperature and high humidity in the nursery place; timely eliminate the diseased seedlings and their surrounding seedlings when discovering the disease;

(4) Spray 450 times solution of 15% hymexiline in the early stage of damping-off disease; spray 1000 times solution of 20% chlorphos methyl emulsifiable concentrate (lichen) in the early stage of damping-off disease; spray 800 times solution of 72.2% Prochlor and 800 times solution of 50% thiram wettable powder in the case of simultaneous occurrence of damping-off disease and lichen.
