Corn deformity will have a great impact on the quality and yield of corn, and it will also do great harm to the economic interests of farmers. Corn deformity has fifteen abnormal varieties such as bald tip ear, lack of grain ear, empty ear, bouquet ear, etc. Many friends feel that they take good care of themselves, but I don't know why these problems still occur. I don't know what the specific reason for the abnormality is. Let's make up a small series to tell you about the reasons for the abnormality of corn.

1. Drought

Drought is one of the main causes of corn deformity. Under excessive drought or continuous drought weather, farmers did not do a good job of replenishing water in time. The water content in soil decreases rapidly due to the lack of water in soil and air, while corn does not absorb enough water, which has a great impact on the nutrient absorption and operation in corn. The fruit can not absorb nutrients evenly, resulting in abnormal phenomenon. Moreover, drought not only affects the development of corn on the ground, but also inhibits the extension and development of corn roots, resulting in further deterioration of corn absorption system and transportation capacity, resulting in deformity.

2. High temperature

Continuous high temperature weather will affect the photosynthesis of corn, weaken the intensity, reduce the accumulation of dry matter in corn, and high temperature will force corn to accelerate various reactions in the process of growth and development, resulting in shortening the process of each growth stage and completing it ahead of schedule. The female ear of corn becomes less and smaller, the number decreases, the vitality of pollen decreases, the male ear cannot bloom, the pollination and fertilization process in the later stage is affected, the pollination is blocked, and the corn cannot bear fruit normally, and the phenomenon of abnormality occurs.

3. Lack of fertilizer

Corn growth ability is strong, the fertilizer required is also relatively large, the demand for nutrition can not be single, is more comprehensive, if in the growth process of lack of fertilizer or lack of other nutrients required by corn. For example, light, especially in the corn fruit expansion period and flowering period, the lack of any of the same nutrients, will make the corn eventually deformed and may be pests and other problems. For example, lack of nitrogen fertilizer may cause bald spike, lack of phosphorus fertilizer may cause lack of grain spike, etc. Therefore, we must ensure that corn needs sufficient nutrients for growth during planting.

4. Variety

Corn is also divided into many varieties, each variety of growth and yield are very different, so the different varieties naturally also formed the incidence of deformity. However, the reason for the variety is not due to its own genetic problems, for example, some varieties of corn bracts are very tight and short, in rainy weather, can not effectively prevent rain, so that rain easily flows into the ear, resulting in sprouting ears. Of course, some are caused by genes, such as genetic varieties with sweet corn, which are more likely to be deformed when encountering long-term low temperature weather at the ear stage, forming barbell-like deformed corn.

The above four kinds are the main reasons for the abnormal appearance of corn, of course, there are far more than these, such as pests and diseases, chemical reasons, etc. In the final analysis, it is because of improper management that there is the possibility of these problems, so we must master a set of correct management methods in planting, so that corn has a good growth environment, so as to effectively reduce the incidence of deformity.
