The difference between Aloe barbadensis and Aloe vera

Flowers: Chinese aloe is yellowish green, sometimes purple, with red spots. The florescence is from July to August. On the other hand, Aloe vera is yellow with red spots, and its flowering period is from February to March.

The leaves of Chinese aloe are lanceolate, about 30-80 cm long, 3-16 cm wide and 2.5-6 cm thick, with acuminate apex, clasping at the base and spiny teeth at the edge. The color of the leaves is light green, and sometimes there are light white spots. When the leaves grow, the spots will slowly disappear.

The leaves of Aloe barbadensis are narrowly lanceolate, much smaller than the former, about 14-36 cm long and 2-6 cm wide. The apex is long and pointed, the base is broad, the color is pink-green, and there are spots, and there will be a layer of gray after the spots disappear.

Second, the difference between flowers

Chinese aloe is a raceme, about 40-80 cm high, the color is usually yellowish green, sometimes purple, slightly reddish spots. The florescence is from July to August.

Aloe vera is also a raceme, slightly taller than the former, about 60-90 cm, and the flowers are yellow with red spots. The florescence is from February to March.
