Today, I would like to introduce to you the soil for orchids to see if anyone uses them incorrectly. If the soil is used correctly, orchids can burst into pots and blossom more. A few days ago, someone asked me what kind of soil orchids should choose. Can we use our common garden soil?

For such a problem, I believe there must be a lot of novice do not know. Because just yesterday I chatted with a flower friend who used the garden soil to raise orchids and found that his orchids were all black. I told him that orchids should be raised with plants instead of nutritious soil.

Plant material = nutritious soil? What is the plant material?

In fact, plant materials are not nutritious soil, but should belong to plant fibers with high permeability, such as pine bark, peanut shell, melon seed shell, seaweed and other materials, which are collectively referred to as orchid "plant materials".

So what is soft plant material?

Soft plant material is the use of: rotten leaf soil, blue stone, perlite and other materials mixed according to a certain proportion of the soil, this kind of soil has high air permeability, excellent effect, suitable for the growth of orchids.

Soft plant materials are suitable for advanced experts to use, in general, they need to be configured by themselves, and the finished products are less. Need to buy back a variety of materials, but the fertilizer effect of this plant is very long, used to raise orchids can basically remain unchanged for 2 years.

What is hard implant?

Hard plant is an orchid soil made of all kinds of bark and shells. This matrix is highly permeable, but water retention may be poor. And fertilization does not last long. The advantage is that it is not easy to accumulate water when it is often watered. And the soft plant mentioned above is easy to accumulate water.

The selection of different plant materials has an effect on the watering frequency, because the soft plant material has strong water retention capacity, so it can be watered once every 5 days in summer. On the other hand, the water retention capacity of hard plant material is poor, which can be watered once every 2 days. Adding good organic nutrient solution when watering can make the orchid grow better.

According to this, for beginners, it may be better to use hard plant material for half a year, and then replace it with soft plant material. Of course, some people have adopted the 2.0 version of plant material, which is mixed with soft plant material and hard plant material according to a certain proportion, which is also possible. In this way, the watering time is about 3 days. Remember that the leaves should also be sprayed, which is more conducive to the growth of orchids.

Well, the soft and hard plants of orchids, let's say so much, I hope you can like it!
