Hazelnut is one of the most common dried fruits in our lives, and it is also used to process the most dried fruits, such as pistachios. And hazelnut tree also has the effect of fuel forest, which is widely used as a suitable wasteland for transformation, although the scope of artificial cultivation is not very wide. However, as the national desert afforestation work is paid more and more attention, hazelnut trees play a more and more important role. But in the cultivation of hazelnut trees often encounter a lot of diseases and insect pests, that hazelnut tree will have what diseases and insect pests? How to solve the problem? Let's have a look!

1. Hazel leaf powdery mildew

Symptoms: hazel leaf powdery mildew is also hazelnut powdery mildew, referred to as powdery mildew, which generally occurs on hazelnut trees planted in the northeast. Powdery mildew mainly harms leaves, but it may also harm shoots, buds and buds. After the leaves get sick, there will be unclear yellow patches on the leaves, and soon there will be white powder on the patches, and then the patches begin to expand slowly, and many patches connect into patches. It is also gradually faded, slowly yellowed, twisted, scorched, and finally leads to early defoliation. The main reason for the tender leaves is that they can not spread the leaves, the branches will also appear white powder, but also with the phenomenon of cracking.

Prevention and control methods: once the disease situation is found, the diseased branches and leaves of the diseased plant should be eliminated immediately. If the disease is the central plant, it should be cut off in time to reduce the source of infection. Proper thinning of branches to enhance permeability and disease resistance of trees, spray trimethoprim for prevention.

2. Beetles

Harmful symptoms: the beetle is the most common pest of all plants. It belongs to the family Coleoptera. The main hazards to hazelnut trees are oriental beetles and apple hairy beetles. The adults of the beetles will eat the tender leaves and leaves of the tree. the adults generally lay eggs in the soil. after the eggs hatch in the ground, the larvae will begin to eat the roots of the tree, hindering the absorption of nutrients and seriously affecting the development of the tree.

Prevention and control methods: first of all, we should implement the planting technology of rotation grazing, not continuous cropping, select disease-resistant seeds, soak and disinfect the seeds before planting, use bagging technology, plough and disinfect the soil, and create a mixed forest. It can also release appropriate Beauveria bassiana, attract soil bees, attract birds, and attract natural enemies of beetles. The beetle is in a state of false death, which is usually fake death on the tree trunk, can shake the tree to make the beetle fall, carry out artificial hunting, and finally can use pesticides and other pesticides for chemical hunting.

3. Hazelnut weevil

Harmful symptoms: weevil is mainly harmful to the wild hazel forest, although the situation in the artificially planted hazel forest is relatively small, but we still can not be taken lightly. The adults of the weevil eat the buds and leaf branches, resulting in incomplete buds, pinholes in the leaves, hollow branches and easily broken shoots, affecting the growth of new shoots. Will also extend the slender head tube into the young fruit, so that the young fruit embryo stop growth and development, early fruit drop. And feces will be excreted in the fruit.

Control methods: in the adult spawning supplementary nutrition and the early stage of spawning, the adults should be poisoned with high concentration of Dmurm mixture, and then a comprehensive treatment and disinfection of the hazel forest should be carried out, spraying about three times, each time at an interval of half a month.

These are the diseases and insect pests that often occur when planting hazelnuts. We must pay attention to the sanitary disinfection of the orchard. Most of the causes are caused by improper orchard management. Although the incidence of hazelnut is not high, it does not mean that it will not occur. The disease has a fatal impact on hazelnut. If it is not dealt with in time, it will lead to a massive reduction or even extinction of hazelnut production, resulting in inestimable losses to farmers.
