Hazelnut is a deciduous shrub of the genus Corylus in birch family, and it is also one of the four dried fruits in the world. Hazelnut, known as "king of nuts", is very rich in nutrients, mainly distributed in hazelnut shells and kernels. It is also a collection of health care, nutrition and other food resources, and the planting cost is low, but also easier to grow, is the planting object of many growers. Planting a thing of course wants to be high-yielding, high-yielding can achieve higher economic benefits, so here are the high-yield planting techniques of hazelnut for everyone.

1. Planting density

Planting hazelnut in order to achieve the goal of high yield, we must first have a reasonable planting density, which depends on many aspects. The first is the species, varieties, cultivation techniques, etc., the second is the hazelnut tree shape, topography, soil conditions and climate temperature and so on. Therefore, when planting, we should first consider the planting density from these aspects. For example, in areas with high soil fertility and relatively flat terrain, and varieties with exuberant growth and open crowns, the rows of the hazelnut trees should be a little farther apart. The planting density should be tighter in areas with relatively poor soil and varieties with weak growth and small curved trees.

2. Cultivation depth

The cultivation depth of a plant will directly determine the final yield. When planting, the roots should not be buried too deep or too shallow. After cultivation, the rhizome should be level with the ground or not less than five centimeters. The most suitable cultivation depth is about 8 cm. If the cultivated soil is sparse and soft, it should be properly watered before planting, or gently firm the soil. The aim is to prevent the soil from sinking after planting, which makes it difficult to control the depth of cultivation, because the soil sinks with the roots and is not easy to manage at a later stage.

3. Water and fertilizer management

Hazelnut is a water-loving shrub. After planting the hazelnut tree, you should immediately establish an irrigated tree plate around all hazelnut trees, at least one meter in diameter, to facilitate later watering. Watering immediately after planting, and must be fully irrigated, because enough water can be infiltrated into the soil to seal the soil to preserve moisture, and then covered with plastic film on the tree plate, used to heat and moisturize, promote root growth and development, and improve the survival rate of hazelnut trees. The amount of fertilizer needed for hazelnuts is relatively moderate. Generally, mature farm manure is applied before and after the Beginning of Summer, and then compound fertilizer is applied once in July. In the following year, fertilizer can be applied outside the hazelnut tree, but be careful not to be too deep and excessive.

4. Timely pruning

When pruning, a trunk is left for the hazelnut tree, and in the later stage, it is pruned according to the growth morphology and development characteristics of the hazelnut tree, and a reasonable skeleton is arranged for the hazelnut tree. There are generally three kinds of hazelnut trees, the first is less dry cluster type, mainly leaving about three basic branches as the main branches and then grow and develop in different directions. The second is the single stem, as long as one trunk is retained, then four or so evenly distributed main branches are retained on the trunk, and then the side branches are selected on the main branches, and the secondary branches and fruiting mother branches will be produced on the side branches, and finally a short trunk will be formed.

The above is a brief introduction to the high-yield planting techniques of hazelnuts. Although planting hazelnuts is not very difficult, it is relatively simple. But we still need to have a correct planting method, orchards also need to have a correct management method. Orchards should be cleaned and disinfected in time, especially in winter cleaning, all potential overwintering parasites and germs should be eliminated, and diseased branches should also be cleaned up in time. Only in this way can we make hazelnut more productive.
