At the beginning of autumn, the weather is cool, and many flowers and plants wake up from dormancy. Crab claw orchid is one of the flowers loved by many florists because its flowering period is from October to February of the following year, so it is very suitable for indoor flower appreciation in winter. Recently, I have received a lot of messages from flower friends, if they want crab claw orchids to blossom on National Day, how to maintain them now?

1. Pruning before flowering. After autumn, when the crab claw orchid wakes up, the first thing to do is to prune it, because after a summer of dormancy, the crab claw orchid basically grows in a mess and the plant type is not beautiful. The general point of pruning is: cutting 3-4 stems under each flower can ensure the integrity of the whole plant type, retain nutrients, and let crab claw orchid promote more flower buds.

2. Reasonable lighting. If you want to control the flowering time, you must control the light reasonably. Crab claw orchid is a short-day plant, the sun is not so strong in autumn, giving 8 hours of light a day can promote photosynthesis. In the evening, move it to a ventilated, lightless room to promote flower bud differentiation and blossom ahead of time, commonly known as "closing a small dark house" to promote flowers. Be careful when carrying, do not touch the bud, the loss of the bud will outweigh the gain.

3. Fertilizing to promote flower. Crab claw orchid such a big leaf flowering plant, if you want to fireworks, fertilization must be essential. After awakening, the growth of crab claw orchid needs a lot of nutrients, in fact, if the nutrient supply is insufficient, not to mention flowering, crab claw orchid will also appear leaf shedding, not growing or even yellow leaves and so on.

After pruning, we first use nitrogen-rich organic nutrient solution once every 7 days, which can promote the root growth of crab claw orchid, make the terminal bud grow faster and the rootstock grow thicker. About a month or so, crab claw orchid grows energetically, and when it comes to flowering, we use a flower-promoting nutrient solution containing more phosphorus and potassium once every 10 days to promote crab claw orchid pregnancy buds, the long buds are full, and then the flowers bloom big and gorgeous.

In doing the above three steps, it is accompanied by an important link, that is, watering. Many flower friends say that the crab claw orchid at home is always soft, which is mainly caused by the rotten roots caused by improper watering. Crab claw orchid is not resistant to moisture, it is easy to get root rot after watering. In autumn, you can see that the surface of the basin soil is completely dry before watering. If you are afraid that you will not, you can use a flower detector to help you insert it into the basin soil. You can see the numerical changes of soil moisture, fertility, moisture and temperature through your mobile phone, which is simple and convenient.

To do a good job of these points, you can basically see the crab claw orchid blossom on National Day. You are welcome to share the knowledge of flower cultivation to make it easier and happier.
