Rugao City, Jiangsu Province holds the "Longevity Cup" bonsai competition

Yesterday, China's "Longevity Cup" bonsai boutique contest was held in our city. Su Fang, President of China Bonsai Artists Association, Zhao Qingquan, Vice President, Cai Heng, Party Member and Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry Department of Jiangsu Province, Chen Bin, Standing Committee Member of Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Politics and Law Committee, Fang Jian, Deputy Director of Nantong Agricultural Bureau, Chen Huijuan, Jiang Yonghua, Yang Caoming, Shi Yao and Li Zhonglin, leaders of our city, cut the ribbon for the competition.

China "Longevity Cup" Bonsai Competition is sponsored by China Bonsai Artists Association and undertaken by Jiangsu Province Flower and Tree Association and Rugao City People's Government. More than 200 bonsai enthusiasts from 17 regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Guangdong, Guangxi, Anhui, Shanxi, Ningxia and Jiangsu participated in the competition with their own works. Nearly 400 pots of bonsai, more than 50 pieces of stone appreciation, more than 40 root carvings and gourd carvings participated in the competition. Seven schools, including Lingnan School, Shanghai School, Sichuan School, Hui School, Yang School, Su School and Tongru School, gathered in Rugao to show their elegant demeanour and unprecedented grandeur. After careful evaluation and scoring by expert judges and the Supervisory Committee, 3 special prizes, 17 first prizes, 29 second prizes and 69 third prizes for plant bonsai and water-stone bonsai were awarded. 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 18 third prizes were awarded for stone appreciation and root arts.
