Many of us may not know chopping melon, in fact, it is a variant variety of pumpkin, their growth habits, planting methods and other aspects are basically similar, but the biggest difference is that pumpkins are generally picked as a whole. Cut melons are mainly harvested by cutting. Chopped melons are rich in nutritional value, but there are not many melons on the market, so we are not common, so let's learn what we need to pay attention to when planting melons with the pro-farm network.

1. Time

Because the requirements of cutting melons on the natural environment and soil are not very high, it can be planted in most areas of our country, but if we want to have a high yield, we still need to pay attention to the time of planting. In general, it can be planted in spring and autumn, but there are some differences in different places. Normal areas are usually planted in March and the end of July every year. In Guangzhou and other places, planting is carried out in March and October, and a small number of areas are planted in November every year, so the specific time must be sown at the right time according to where you are.

2. Temperature

Chopping melons still require temperature to a certain extent, for example, if the temperature of seed germination is best controlled at about 20 to 28 degrees, the germination rate of seeds will be much faster and the germination rate will be higher. The second is the collection of the life and storage process of chopping melons, and the temperature is best maintained at about 25 degrees, which can promote the growth cycle of chopped melons, make them enter the flowering stage faster, and finally improve the fruit setting rate of chopped melons.

3. Fertilizer and water

Fertilizer and water management is a very important point in cutting melon planting, scientific fertilizer and water management can determine the yield and quality of cut melon, so our team should pay more attention to this part. In fact, the fertilization of cutting melon is carried out in batches, mainly because the harvesting method of cutting melon determines its fertilization method and frequency. the first fertilization is one week after planting, which is mainly suitable for nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of melon seedlings. the second time is in the peak season of cutting melon seedling growth, when it can promote its growth cycle and enter the flowering stage, and then the third fertilization, that is, flower fertilizer. Mainly potash fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer, finally, the more important strong melon fertilizer, we mainly use boron fertilizer, of course, strong melon fertilizer we need to be divided into several times, that is, we also need to apply fertilizer after each harvest, which, in a sense, also belongs to strong melon fertilizer, and watering is carried out after each fertilization.

4. Management

The main thing to pay attention to in the management of chopping melons is to build frames, pick vines, pick leaves and pollinate. Melon racks need to be about 1.8 to two meters long, mainly with sticks, one next to each seedling, and then connect each frame with ropes to let them crawl and grow along the ropes on the frame. After chopping melons, we must pay attention to the need to slightly remove the vines, branches and leaves next to the unstable melons, so as to avoid nutrient consumption and carry out sufficient photosynthesis. There is also the matter of pollination. Because melon cutting is cross-pollination, it needs a medium of pollination. When bees and insects are weak in rainy season, we need artificial pollination. Only in this way can we improve the fruit setting rate of melon cutting.

5. Harvest

When harvesting melons, we should pay attention to the fact that we need to harvest the whole batch of melons when they are ripe, and we will not implement the method of harvesting until the second batch of melons are ripe, because the automatic healing ability of the second batch of melons is stronger than that of the first batch of melons. It can heal and continue to grow immediately after harvest, but the first batch of melons is not good, so we usually keep two melons in order to increase production.
