Cloves are leathery or thickly papery, oval to reniform, wider than the former, about 2-14 cm long, with a short protruding tip to long acuminate at the beginning, a heart-shaped or broadly cuneate base, and a smooth unserrated surface.

The flower opens earlier than the leaf, the Corolla bud is pink, after opening, it will become white, the anther is yellow-white, and there are five petals.
