Last Updated: 2024/11/05, I have written a lot about plants that are difficult to raise indoors, especially when it comes to rooms that do not have a lot of natural light or are completely dark. Many plants are extremely shade-tolerant, such as the common one-leaf orchid, money tree and tiger skin.

I have written a lot about plants that are difficult to raise and die indoors, especially when it comes to rooms that do not have a lot of natural light or are completely dark, and there are many plants that are extremely shade-tolerant, such as the common one-leaf orchid, money tree and tiger skin orchid.

However, the five plants I would like to introduce below can grow in places where the light is particularly bad. I like the cool and humid environment. Which one do you like?

1. Dryopteris

Dryopteris is a very good ornamental fern, it has small fan-like green leaves, it is different from common indoor plants, its leaves are very thin, it can grow well in low light environment, but if you want to keep the fern in a good-looking state, it is best to keep it in a ventilated and transparent position, maintain high air humidity and avoid yellow leaves.

2. Begonia lobata

Toad leaf begonia is a very common foliage plant, it has beautiful leaves, the leaves are very large, and there are bright colors on the leaves. It can grow exuberantly in semi-shade or brightly lit places, during maintenance to avoid excessive watering, must wait for the soil to dry after pouring water, and to avoid stagnant water on the leaves, otherwise it is easy to rot.

3. Mint

Peppermint usually grows in semi-shady and humid places, and it can grow more vigorously if it is raised in a position with appropriate scattered light. Mint potted plants are best kept in a ventilated and transparent position. Pay attention to regular watering to avoid soil drought. Around you can spray water regularly to maintain a certain amount of air humidity, so that it can give off a fragrant smell.

4. Swedish Ivy

Swedish ivy looks very attractive and can be raised in a position with appropriate scattered light or bright light. it can grow in vertical pots, has very good shade resistance, and can produce bright white flowers.

Swedish ivy is a very fast-growing vertical basin plant, can be used as a hanging basin on the windowsill, it is very suitable for novice cultivation, maintenance must use loose and drained soil, pay attention to keep the soil moist during the growing period.

5. Moss

If you have very little light in your environment, consider planting some moss. You can keep them directly in a glass container. You just need to water them regularly and keep the light bright to grow well.

The maintenance of moss must pay attention to maintain high air humidity and maintain ventilation and light transmission in the maintenance position.
