On August 17, 2018, the Bonsai Association was established in Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. After the application of the preparatory group of Lushan County Bonsai Association, it shall be submitted to the relevant civil affairs department of Lushan County for approval, and to Henan Bonsai Association for approval. The member Congress of the Bonsai Association of Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, was solemnly held in the county seat. In order to comprehensively excavate Lushan cultural resources, inherit and carry forward excellent bonsai culture and art, Lushan County Bonsai Association elected the first leading organization of Lushan County Bonsai Association, which laid the foundation for the construction of ecological livable, prosperous civilization, peace and happiness, beautiful and harmonious home, and made a plan for the long-term development of bonsai art. The leaders who attended the meeting included Yu Duan, president of Henan Bonsai Association, Yuan Zhancai, vice president of Yanhuang Culture Research Association of Lushan County, executive vice president of Pingdingshan Bonsai Research Association, Guo Weining, president of Lushan County Federation of Literature and Art, Lei Tianzhou, Chinese master of bonsai art, Wu Dejun, international master of bonsai art, Gao Xiaowei, president of Lushan County Folk artists Association.

More than 100 responsible comrades from bonsai associations in Zhengzhou, Pingdingshan, Nanyang, Xuchang, Luohe, Shangqiu and Xinxiang attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Guo Weining, president of the Lushan County Federation of Literary and Art Associations. the meeting voted and adopted the constitution of the Lushan County Bonsai Association, and the meeting produced the first leading group by a show of hands. Zhong Ling Shuxiu in Lushan, Henan Province, is an important birthplace of Qixi Festival culture. It is one of the four world-famous folk love stories in China. The story of Cowherd and Weaver Girl originated here, passed on here, and passed on for thousands of years. This is a classic of Chinese folk culture. Henan Bonsai Association, based on Belt and Road Initiative cultural exchange, cooperated with Lushan County Bonsai Association. An exhibition of strange stone root art of bonsai in southwest Henan Province was held in "our Festival-2018 Lushan Qixi Festival", which added a strong flavor of bonsai culture and art to Lushan.
