Cultivation Techniques of Photinia rubra
Photinia rubra is a general term for hybrid species of Photinia genus in Rosaceae family. It is called evergreen small tree because of its bright red new shoots and tender leaves. Common red Robin and red lips are two varieties, of which red Robin's leaves are colorful and ornamental. The leaf color of Photinia rubra can change with the new and old degree of leaves, spring and autumn, new shoots and young leaves are red and bright for a long time, very lively; The leaves that experience frost and snow in winter are brownish red, bringing warmth to the depressed earth. The red leaf heather has strong ecological adaptability, low temperature resistance, poor soil resistance, and certain shade resistance. In direct light, the color is more vivid. At present, this new color leaf tree species is widely valued, the market prospect is broad, and the development potential is huge. The propagation and cultivation techniques are described as follows:
Nursery selection and soil treatment
Nursery land should choose leeward sunny, convenient transportation, flat terrain, deep soil layer, loose soil texture, fertile, slightly acidic to medium as well, and irrigation to facilitate good drainage.
3000kg of manure, 50kg of calcium superphosphate, 25cm of soil tillage depth and fungicides were applied to control diseases and insect pests. The bed should be deeply turned into fine, grass roots and stones should be picked up, the bed surface should be 90-120cm wide, 20-30cm high, the footpath width should be 30cm, and the seedbed length should be determined according to the situation, generally 10-20m. After the seedbed is done, in order to prevent weeds, spray fruit 500 times before cutting.
Cutting treatment and cuttage
Using semi-lignified shoots or completely lignified branches of the current year, cut into a leaf and a bud, the length of about 3-4cm, cut ecological, landscaping planning and design work. Smooth mouth. After cutting, quickly put it in a ventilated and cool place indoors, spray water in time to moisten the leaves and keep the cuttings fresh, but try to cut them as much as possible. Before cuttage, the incision was treated with rooting agent to accelerate rooting speed and improve survival rate.
Cutting time can be in early March spring planting, early June summer planting, early September autumn planting. Insert the treated poor strips into the soil at a spacing of 4-6cm, and the depth is more than 1/2 of the cutting length. When cutting, insert the cuttings evenly and evenly, and the leaves of the plants are parallel, so as to be neat and consistent, so as to facilitate management, observation and inspection. Cutting should be immediately watered thoroughly, so that cuttings and soil tightly combined. In order to prevent the occurrence of blight and root rot, 600-fold solution of Lvheng No. 2 can be used to irrigate the seedbed.
Erection of plastic film shed and shade shed
After the cuttings are watered, the bamboo strips with two sharpened ends are inserted in an arch shape (the height from the bed surface to the top of the bamboo arch is about 50cm), covered with agricultural plastic film, and sealed with soil, without leaving a gap. After the plastic film is sealed, remember that the sun is direct, and immediately set up a shade on the plastic film shed. The height of the shade is required to be 1.5-2m, and the shade net with transmittance of 60-70% shall be selected to shade. Shading must also be provided around the plastic film shed to prevent direct sunlight from the side.
