Intelligent agriculture has become a trend. The Peach Garden Agricultural improvement Farm of the Council of Agriculture has launched a "intelligent agricultural development system" to develop field environmental sensors, controllers, and remote control systems, so that farmers can patrol the fields without going to the scene. The system is free and open for use, while a set of sensors and controllers is only 7,000 yuan. Compared with the price of tens of thousands of yuan sold by other companies, the agricultural reform farm is expected to increase farmers' willingness to use it at the most economical cost.

As for the actual cost savings? Lai Hsin-Chung explains that in terms of watering alone, in terms of hourly wages, the monthly cost of one person per minute is NT $4200, or about NT $50,000 a year. If you rely on an intelligent system, you can save these labor costs.

"at the beginning, the system was built in the hope that farmers could manage intelligently at the cheapest price, so that they didn't even have to go to the fields." Lai says that by saving manpower management costs and expanding the management area, young farmers who have just entered the country can complete these field tasks without very hard work.

Lai Hsin-Chung explains that if farmers already have equipment such as greenhouses, fans, and watering systems, as long as sensors and controllers are installed, intelligent monitoring systems can be achieved, "turning the original manual into automatic control." As long as farmers have network, electricity and corresponding management equipment in the field, they will be able to operate.

Farmers: the monitoring data are of great help to novice farmers.

However, for farmers who lack equipment, cost is a different consideration. Although the system is free, sensors and controllers are also cheap. However, setting up a simple greenhouse costs 800000 yuan, and other corresponding equipment, such as sprinkler systems, fans, shading nets, and so on, are all costs.

Qiu Guanjun, a farmer in the actual cooperative experiment, said that preliminary tests are still under way, and two greenhouses are each equipped with a set of modules to monitor air temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and other values. However, due to the greenhouse has not yet installed fans, shading nets and other corresponding equipment, so it can not be automated operation, still manual operation. For example, if you detect a lack of water in the soil, you quickly go to artificial watering. "according to the data, the quality of vegetables is good."

Will you consider installing fans, shading nets and watering equipment in the future? Qiu Guanjun responded, "relevant equipment will certainly be built, because a lot of costs will be saved." He said that it takes a manpower to irrigate and irrigate in summer alone, and if an automatic irrigation system is built, the labor cost will be saved. "more importantly, the values obtained by monitoring are of great help to farmers who have just come in to work. They know when to replenish water, and there is less trouble in field management."

As Qiu Guanjun's greenhouse is relatively large, ranging from 75 to 100 ping, it is estimated that one set of modules in one greenhouse will be sufficient. He stressed that when using the module, farmers should still calculate according to their individual cultivated area, yield, and related equipment, and there are no certain standards, but it is true that it is cost-effective to estimate that their own fields can be used.
