Exophthalmos is not obvious in the early stage, if you do not observe carefully, it is really difficult to find that there are slightly more serious differences in the size of the left and right eyes, or even blindfolded. If you find such a situation, you must not use medicine blindly and think about it a little bit. In front of me, what measures have been taken to cause fish exophthalmos? Changed the filter material? New fish added? Understand the cause clearly, check the symptoms, and then targeted treatment.

1. Etiology

1. The eye film was injured and invaded by tuberculosis and vibrio.

2. Poor water quality or nitrogen entering the fish.

3. Swollen eyeballs can be caused by a variety of causes, including white spot disease, edema, insect cataract (caused by various trematodes, such as trematodes) and bacterial infection.

After you know the cause, check the symptoms.

Second, symptoms of infection

1. One or two eyes of the fish become covered with clouds and show a white appearance. Fish may show signs of tension, and the color of the fish is not normal, or they may behave like normal fish.

2. In the initial stage, there was white fog on the eye membrane and eyeball opacity, mostly monocular.

3. In severe cases, the eyes are swollen and white cotton cones grow.

III. Treatment methods

Identify the cause of the problem and treat it as soon as possible to prevent damage to the nervous system.

1. Bacterial infection

Treatment can first change water 1/3, and add appropriate amount of crude salt to increase the temperature and observe whether there is any improvement. If there is no improvement, you can first disinfect the methyl blue fish tank, and then put the yellow powder medicine bath, eyeball opacity, slow recovery time, about three to five months before treatment. If the swelling is eliminated, the dosage can be reduced or discontinued.

2. Caused by poor water quality

First of all, to strengthen the water quality, filtration efficiency, can be treated with antibiotics: oxytetracycline every 100 liters of water put 3 tablets, every day for 1 stroke 3 water tonic. The drug can be improved after 5 to 7 days. Or apply erythromycin eye ointment to the affected area 2 or 3 times a day until the condition improves.

3. Salt bath

Prepare a sufficient amount of crude salt (special salt for aquarium). Use 5/1000 crude salt when changing water. The method is to release 1/4 water (up to 1/3). At this time, the amount of water in the tank is relatively small. Calculate the total number of tons of water at this time. Multiplying 5/1000 is how many kilograms of crude salt is put. Salt is best sprinkled in the upper filter tank. Do not interrupt the filtration cycle and oxygen.

This is what we call a salt bath. Fill the tank with water an hour later, as long as the temperature difference is basically the same, not necessarily in the sun. Usually I mix the water in the water heater with cold water and pour it into the fish tank. Do this every two days, such as changing water and salt today, and repeating it the day after tomorrow. Then the third time basically disappeared the swollen eyes, the fourth time there is no need to put salt, if not good, continue to repeat. In order to stabilize the water quality, the amount of feed should be halved. Need to be careful not to be confused with the head hole, some fish are caused by the head hole fester eye swelling, can be distinguished, the treatment of head hole eye swelling will disappear. Although salt has a good anti-inflammatory effect, but too much will stimulate the affected area, easy to cause fish discomfort, if the dosage is not well controlled, it is easy not to try.
