Asparagus originates in southern and eastern Africa and is distributed in central, northwest, Yangtze River basin and southern parts of China. Judging from the environment of these places, asparagus likes warm, humid and semi-overcast ventilated environment.

In other words, in the maintenance process of asparagus, we must pay attention to water management! It includes not only moisture in the soil, but also moisture in the air, that is, air humidity. That is:

Soil moisture: asparagus likes to be moist, but avoid watering too much, because too much water will lead to root rot. But the potted soil can not be too dry, too dry will make the leaves yellow, seriously causing wilt.

Air humidity: of course, the higher the better, in hot weather, but also need to often spray water to the ground, branches and leaves around the plant to increase air humidity.

If you understand the maintenance methods, you will know the reasons why the leaves turn yellow overnight, there are only two:

Reason one: watering too late!

The key word is "watering in time!" When the soil water content is about 20%, that is, when it is about to dry out, it should be watered immediately, and one day later it will cause the leaves to turn yellow and fall irreversibly. If it is more than 3 days later, I am afraid the pot of asparagus will be completely finished. The picture below shows a soil water content of about 20%, which is about to be watered.

Reason 2: the air conditioner blows directly!

Since asparagus likes warm, moist air, if you give it the dry and cold air in the air conditioner, its leaves will naturally turn yellow. By the same token, the hot and dry wind of the heating will also cause the leaves of asparagus to turn yellow, so the placement of asparagus should be very careful not to be too close to the air conditioner and heating.

In addition to yellowing overnight, the leaves will also slowly turn yellow, so other reasons should be considered, such as ambient temperature above 25 ℃ or below 15 ℃, exposure to the sun, long-term non-fertilization and so on. If you know the reason why the asparagus leaves turn yellow, you must avoid it.
