People who raise orchids are most concerned about the growth of new seedlings in the first half of the year. Looking at the green land of new seedlings raised by them every day, they will be in a very good mood, but if they are not careful, the new seedlings will rot, and only Lan you can understand that kind of sadness.

There are many reasons for the decay of new seedlings, in addition to bacterial damage, it may be a common phenomenon after watering. Is it really not difficult to water the new orchid seedlings? Good photo farmers in the mountains, but often see wild orchids drenched by the rain, and every morning there is a thick layer of dew, are the new seedlings of wild orchids not afraid of water?

Good farmers will compare wild orchids with domestic orchids to analyze why new seedlings of domestic orchids rot in water. Most of the water in wild orchids comes from two kinds: Rain Water and dew. Orchids are mostly surrounded by tall trees (one of the growth habits) on the mountain, and these trees act as a buffer when it rains. Even heavy rain does not hit the orchid seedlings directly, but through the cushioning of leaves and branches, so the orchid seedlings are not greatly affected by physical shocks.

Mountain dew usually begins to condense after 11:00 in the evening, when the breathing of orchid leaves is relatively weak and there is no need for photosynthesis. Once the sun comes out, the dewdrops on the orchid leaves will soon evaporate, and the orchid leaves begin to work all day, so the dewdrops on the mountain are only good for the orchids (cooling, humidifying), but not bad.

The new seedlings of domestic orchids rot when exposed to water. After communicating with a number of orchid friends, the good farmer made some conclusions. It is found that the cause of rotten seedlings is not water, but the way and time of watering (spraying) water. Some orchid friends are careless and flood water during watering, which causes the new seedlings to bear a great impact and rot after physical damage.

Some urban orchids are watered with tap water, and the quality of tap water varies from city to city, but it is really not good for most tap water to water flowers directly. New orchid seedlings are still in a very young period and are particularly sensitive to tap water (especially those with high chlorine content). This is also one of the reasons for rotten seedlings.

Watering under the sun, if you accidentally pour water into the center of the orchid seedlings, the sun will form a convex lens effect, gathering sunlight on the orchid leaves, this kind of heat is unbearable for any plant, and it is not uncommon for the orchid leaves to rot.

There are also some orchid friends, for fear that the humidity of the city balcony is not enough and the temperature is too high, so they spray the orchid leaves four or five times a day. In fact, orchid leaves need to be dry during the day, because they need to breathe and photosynthesis. They can't breathe normally when they are soaked in water all day long, and the resistance of new seedlings is still relatively weak. It is also very common for orchid leaves to be suffocated and rot.

Therefore, the good farmer thinks that the new orchid seedlings are not afraid of water, and the key is to learn some ways to use water from wild orchids. What do you think? Welcome to share your valuable experience.
