Last Updated: 2024/11/08, The blackening of Cymbidium leaves may be due to too strong light or too high temperature and need to be placed in a semi-overcast and cool place. May be stagnant water in the basin, leading to retting roots, to suspend watering, and then put in a ventilated place. It may also be that the soil in the basin has caked, and the roots can not breathe, so the soil should be loosened regularly. It may also be that the basin has not been changed for a long time, the root system is necrotic, and the basin should be changed regularly.

1. Put it in a semi-overcast and cool place

(1) specific reason: if the light is too strong, the leaves may be burned and blackened. If the temperature is too high, it is more likely to blacken. This situation is more common in summer.

(2) solution: put the plant in a cool place. Trim it properly and cut off the black leaves. Pay attention to sprinkling water to cool down. In summer, pay attention to cooling and shading.

2. Suspend watering

(1) specific reason: after watering too much, it is easy to cause retting root. The roots won't be able to breathe normally. In this case, the leaves are also easy to blacken.

(2) solution: first suspend watering. Then put it in a well-ventilated position and dry the moisture in the soil. Watering should be controlled after that.

3. Loosen the soil regularly

(1) specific reason: if the soil in the basin is too sticky, the soil is easy to agglomerate. This will affect the absorption of water from the roots and blacken the tip of the leaves.

(2) solution: loosen the soil regularly and make the soil soft. Moreover, it is best to pay more attention to the choice of soil.

4. Change the basin regularly

(1) specific reason: if the basin has not been changed for a long time, the root system will be attached to the wall of the basin. In a state of extremely high or very low temperature, it is easy to cause root necrosis, and the leaves will dry up and blacken.

(2) solution: to change the basin regularly, not only to change the soil, it is best to change a larger basin, otherwise the root system space is insufficient.
