Leaf flowers, also known as triangular flowers, indoor flowers, Pueraria lobata, etc., are woody vine-shaped shrubs of the purple jasmine family, with strong trees, strange flowers, bright colors, and colorful flowers, especially in winter when purples and purple bracts are open, brilliant, warm and unrestrained, deeply loved by people. Let's take a look at the breeding methods of leaf flowers.

The growth habits of Flowers of Leaf

The leaf flower is native to tropical America and is cultivated in the south of China for ornamental use. Sex like warm, humid climate and sunny environment, not cold-resistant, barren, dry early, saline-alkali resistance, pruning resistance, strong growth, like water but avoid stagnant water, require adequate light, pot conservation in the Yangtze River basin and north areas. It is not strict with the soil, but it can grow vigorously in the fertile, loose and well-drained sandy loam. Insufficient light will affect its flowering, and the suitable growth humidity is 20-30 ℃.

The Propagation method of Leaf Flower

1. Cutting: from May to June, the strong annual branches were cut into 10 cm long cuttings. Vermiculite or plain sandy soil was used as the cutting substrate. The branches were 4 cm deep, sprayed with water, placed in a semi-shady place or indoor sunny place, and could be put on the basin after 40 days.

2. Striping: 1-2-year-old branches of the lower part of the plant are selected and pressed into the basin from May to June, and the branches must be peeled in a ring, and the width should be more than 2 times the diameter of the branches. After pressing, the soil is fixed, and the upper basin can be cut off after more than 2 months.

3. Grafting: in the spring when the temperature is above 15 degrees Celsius, 3-4-year-old common leaf flowers are used as rootstocks, double petals and other excellent varieties are selected as scions, with a length of 5 cm to 10 cm, split grafting method is adopted, and new buds can be healed 40-50 days after grafting.

4. Water insertion: cut 1-year-old branches from strong plants in late spring and early summer, cut branches that grow 15cm to 20cm as cuttings, wash and disinfect the jar and pour with clean water, up to about 2x3 of the bottle volume, cut into the water depth of 1x3, and put on the basin when the root grows to 1cm.

The Culture method of Leaf Flower

1. Planting: leaf flowers should be planted in places with sufficient light and good drainage to facilitate their growth. Before sprouting in spring every year, the basin soil should be mixed with rotten leaf soil, pastoral soil, sand, horse dung or bone powder, and then watered after planting.

2. Temperature: leaf flowers are light-loving plants, and they should be placed in sunny places during the growing period. Frosts Descent should move into the greenhouse before winter, the temperature should be kept at 10: 15 ℃, placed in the sunny place, and the lowest temperature should not be less than 3 ℃. In April, Grain Rain moved out of the greenhouse and put it in a ventilated and sunny place for maintenance, and Frosts Descent entered the room in front of him.

3. Fertilization: the fertilization of leaf flowers varies with the season, stop fertilization in winter, apply sufficient base fertilizer when planting or potting or changing pots in spring, and apply mature cake fertilizer or hoof water 3 or 4 times a month after potted plants leave the house. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied several times before flowering. The amount of fertilizer application was reduced in autumn, and fertilizer and water were applied once a week for vigorous growth in summer.

4. Watering: leaf flowers like to avoid stagnant water, plant or put on the basin every year, water once after changing the basin, spray water once in the morning and water once in the afternoon in the peak growing season (watering after 4 o'clock in the afternoon). Water can be watered once every 2 days in spring and autumn, and watering can be controlled indoors in winter to make the plant fully dormant.

5. Pruning: leaves and peanuts grow strongly, so they need to be reshaped and trimmed every year, and renewed every 5 years. The time can be carried out every spring or after flowering, cutting off dense branches, dry and withered branches, diseased and weak branches, cross branches, etc., to promote the development of new branches. After falling leaves and flowers at flowering stage, it should be cleaned up in time, and the residual flowers should be removed in time after flowering.
