Cat mint likes cold, full-day or half-day environment, vigorous growth, flowers bloom through summer, often used as lavender, rose edge protection plants, fruit usually mature in July to September, seeds are very small, about 1500 per gram, seed germination temperature of 15-20 ℃, seed life of 1 year.

Sowing method of cat mint

1. Sowing: cat mint can be directly sown in the open field, with 1-3 seeds in each hole. After sowing, the seeds are slightly covered with vermiculite and sprout at 18-22 degrees for 10-14 days. Proper shade after sowing to avoid direct sunlight.

2. Sprouting: cat mint seeds are buried in a tray that has been placed in advance, spray some water evenly, put the tray in a thermostat to 25 degrees, and sprout after 24 to 30 hours of culture.

Planting method of cat mint

1. Pot soil configuration: cat mint is planted in sandy loam or deep loam with sufficient sunshine and good drainage, the flowerpot is required to be of moderate size, and the soil can be configured with 1/3 humus soil and 2/3 garden soil.

2. Transplanting time: after 4 weeks of budding, 3 seedlings of cat mint were transplanted in a pot of 11 cm and 15 cm, and then the pot was changed properly according to the growth situation. The appropriate pot size will be beneficial to the growth of the root system.

3, rational fertilization: cat mint medium like fertilizer, planted in well-drained soil mixed with 2kg slow-release fertilizer per cubic meter, thin liquid fertilizer can be applied once or twice a week.

4. Watering management: cat mint likes to be wet, and the roots are sensitive to moisture, but they are afraid of waterlogging. Fungicides can be poured once after transplantation to prevent root systems from being infected by fungi. Water should be watered every day in summer and water control should be paid attention to in winter.

5, pruning disease prevention: cat mint vine is very strong, should be pruned at any time, the more frequent pruning, the better its growth, and cat mint is generally not affected by diseases and insect pests, so there is no need to use pesticides.
