Echinacea, also known as echinacea, etc., is a perennial herb of the genus Echinaceae, named because its head is very similar to the common chrysanthemum, with large flowers, bright colors and beautiful appearance. It has a high ornamental value and is planted all over the country. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method of echinacea.

How much is the echinacea seed per jin?

The price of echinacea seeds is about 180,240 yuan per jin, but it varies greatly due to different seed quality, variety, producing area, market and so on. Echinacea likes warmth, strong sex and cold resistance, light, drought tolerance, no choice of soil, grows well on deep, fertile soil rich in humus, and propagates with seeds in production, which are commonly sown in spring, summer and autumn.

Sowing method of echinacea

1, soil preparation and fertilization: echinacea seedlings first apply sufficient base fertilizer on the selected plots, apply 1500-2000 kg of rotten chicken manure, cow manure and ring fertilizer per mu, spread the fertilizer evenly, turn the plot about 30 cm deep, flatten and rake fine, and make a border with a width of 150-200 cm.

2. Seed treatment: echinacea seeds are gently stirred in warm water of 35-40 degrees Celsius, then soaked in 800-1000-fold potassium permanganate solution for about 15 minutes 2 hours later, the seeds are removed and spread out on the newspaper for 1 hour and 2 hours before sowing.

3. Sowing method: the method of sowing and raising echinacea seedlings is generally carried out by mixing soil and sowing. After sowing, use a rake to cover it again, and pour water for the last time. Pay attention to flooding with small water. About 7-10 days after sowing, the seedlings will break out of the soil, and the seedlings will be able to come out in 15 days.

Seedling management of echinacea

1. Watering and drainage: echinacea seedlings need less water in the early stage, and generally do not need watering, just keep the soil moist. When the seedlings have 2-3 true leaves, start watering every 15-20 days, and pay attention to flood control and drainage in case of continuous rainy days at the seedling stage.

2. Weeding seedlings: in order to avoid hurting the roots of seedlings when weeding, echinacea had better be pulled out by hand, pay attention to pulling up the roots to prevent the resurrection of weeds, and at the same time, interseedling those dense seedlings according to the principle of "removing the weak and staying strong".

3. Cold prevention and overwintering: echinacea should be watered with anti-freezing water before the beginning of winter, and should be covered with plastic sheet within 2-3 days after watering. In case of cold current, some firewood or grass should be added for heat preservation. Finally, the edge of the cover is pressed with soil to prevent it from being blown by the wind.

Planting method of echinacea

1. Soil preparation and fertilization: echinacea is fertilized before transplanting. 2500-3000 kg of rotten chicken manure, cow manure and ring fertilizer are applied per mu. After the fertilizer is spread evenly, the plot is turned about 30 cm deep, leveled and raked fine, and then made into a border with a width of 150-200 cm.

2. Sterilization and seedling initiation: echinacea seedlings are sterilized before emergence, usually spraying 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder 600 times the previous day. When raising the seedlings, the seedlings should be dug up together with the root soil to minimize the damage to the roots of the seedlings.

3. Trenching and transplanting: echinacea seedlings are placed in the ditch at a distance of every 20 to 25 centimeters. When transplanting, dig a small hole with a small shovel, put the seedlings into the trench and then straighten them, then compact the seedlings with the surrounding soil, and finally water them thoroughly to ensure the survival of the seedlings.

4. Intermediate ploughing and weeding: after transplanting echinacea, weeding should be carried out irregularly, but because the roots of seedlings are shallow after transplanting, shallow ploughing should be done to prevent damage to the roots.

5. Watering management: after transplanting, echinacea should be watered in time according to soil moisture, and the principle of dry and wet should be grasped. Generally, it should be watered every 10 to 15 days.

6. Rational fertilization: the first topdressing of echinacea was carried out 20 days after transplanting, 500,800 kg of human manure per mu was applied with water, and about 5 kg of potassium dihydrogen phosphate per mu was applied to the flowering stage of echinacea in the middle of May.

Pest control of echinacea

1. Root rot

[harm] after the echinacea was infected with the disease, the upper leaves of the plant wilted, and even the leaves of the whole plant withered. When the disease was serious, the root turned brown until the whole plant died.

[control] spray or irrigate diseased plants with 1000-fold solution of 40% sodium sulfonate wettable powder, spray once every 3-5 days, and spray 2-3 times.

2. Yellow leaf disease

[harm] the leaves of the plants turn yellow, some curl, grow slowly, the plants are dwarfed, the flowers are deformed and the color becomes lighter.

[prevention and treatment] 500 times of 50% carbendazim wettable powder or 600 times of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder were sprayed every 7 to 10 days for 2 times in a row.

3. Cabbage worm

[harm] Pieris rapae gnaws on echinacea leaves, causing leaf holes and affecting the growth and development of plants.

[prevention and control] it can be sprayed with 2.5% cyhalothrin EC 1000 times, once every 7 days, generally 2 times 3 times.
