Palm bamboo, also known as Guanyin bamboo, Jintou bamboo, palm bamboo, etc., are evergreen foliage plants of the palm family. Because of their tolerance to shade, moisture and scattered light, they can be placed in bright indoor places for a long time. Even if there is no sunlight in the dark for 3 consecutive months, they can grow normally and maintain their dark green leaf color. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method of palm bamboo.

How much is the brown bamboo seed per jin?

The price of brown bamboo seeds is about 6080 yuan per jin, but it varies according to the quality, variety, producing area and market of the seeds. Brown bamboo likes warm, humid and well-ventilated semi-shady environment, is not tolerant to stagnant water, extremely resistant to shade, afraid of hot sun, slightly resistant to cold and can withstand low temperature of about 0 ℃, likes loose and fertile acid soil, is not resistant to barren and saline-alkali, and requires higher soil moisture and air temperature. Sowing and ramet propagation can be used in production, and family planting is mainly ramet propagation.

What are the varieties of brown bamboo?

1. Phyllostachys pubescens: evergreen tufted shrub, produced in western Guangxi and southeastern Yunnan, can be used as garden greening material.

2. Fine brown bamboo: produced in western Guangdong, Hainan and southern Guangxi, the tree shape is short and beautiful, it can be used as garden greening material.

3. Coarse brown bamboo: produced in the southwest of Guangxi, it can be used as a garden, and its fibrous roots can be connected to bones.

4. Dwarf brown bamboo: from the south to the southwest of China, it is commonly cultivated in various places, with beautiful tree shape, which can be used as garden greening and ornamental.

Sowing methods of Brown Bamboo

The main results are as follows: 1. Seedling substrate: Brown bamboo is sown with loose permeable soil as substrate, and rotten leaf soil and river sand are generally used as seedling soil.

2. Soaking seeds in warm soup: the seeds of Phyllostachys pubescens were soaked in warm soup (30-35 ℃ warm water for two days) before sowing, and then sowed when the seeds germinated.

3. Sowing method: Palm bamboo sprouts irregularly, and the soil cover should be a little deeper after sowing. Generally, it can germinate in 1-2 months, and the germination rate is about 80%.

4. Seedling transplanting: the cotyledons of brown bamboo seedlings can be transplanted when the cotyledons are 8 cm and 10 cm, and 3-5 plants are needed when transplanting to facilitate survival and growth.

Planting methods of Brown Bamboo

1. Soil: Brown bamboo likes moist, well-drained and humus-rich loam, and slightly acidic loam is the most suitable. Rotten leaf soil + garden soil + river sand can be selected and evenly mixed. Proper amount of base fertilizer is added to the soil when planting, and the flowerpot can be used to burn mud pot.

2. Temperature: Brown bamboo likes to be warm and cold-resistant, and the suitable temperature for growth is 20-30 ℃. In winter, as long as it is moved indoors to maintain more than 0 ℃, it can safely survive the winter, if the temperature is above 10 ℃, it can keep the leaf color green, and go out to outdoor maintenance after Qingming Festival.

3. Illumination: Brown bamboo likes to have scattered light environment, it should be placed in shade shed or shade in summer, new branches can grow continuously in semi-shade and humid environment, old leaves remain green, scorching sun and dry hot wind are the main reasons for scorch and dryness of brown bamboo leaves.

4. Watering: Brown bamboo should be watered more during the blinking period from May to September, keep the soil moist, rather wet than dry, but not stagnant water. In the high temperature period, we should often spray leaves and the ground with water to increase air humidity, and appropriately reduce the amount of water in autumn and winter.

5. Fertilization: the principle of fertilization for brown bamboo is to apply fertilizer frequently and thinly, that is, a small amount and a combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, dominated by organic fertilizer and supplemented with trace fertilizer, applying fertilizer to the root every 10 to 15 days and foliar fertilizer every 7 to 10 days.

6. Turning the pot: the small plants of brown bamboo turn the pot and change the soil once a year, and the large plants turn the pot once every two or three years, and the turning of the pot is usually carried out when they come out of the shed in spring. 0.5 parts of garden soil, 1 part of stable fertilizer soil, 0.5 part of rotten leaf soil and 0.5 part of green bran ash are commonly used.

7. Diseases and pests: Brown bamboo will be harmed by shell insects, leaf blight, gray spot and brown spot if not managed properly. Shell insects can be killed by spraying 1000 times of omethoate. Leaf blight, gray spot and brown spot can be controlled by spraying 1000 times of methyl topiramate.
