Iris is one of the important flowers in the garden, also known as flat bamboo flower, blue butterfly, purple butterfly and so on. Iris is a perennial herb of Iridaceae. It is rich in color and peculiar in shape. It is often used as a good material for flower bed and courtyard greening, and can also be used as ground cover plant. Some species are excellent fresh cut flower materials. Let's take a look at the seed price and planting method of Iris.

How much is the seed of Iris per jin?

The price of Iris seed is about 20-30 yuan per jin, but it varies greatly due to the quality, variety, market and quantity of seeds. Iris usually blossoms in spring and florescence from April to June. Ramet or sowing is often used to propagate. Ramet can be carried out after flowering in spring or autumn, and it is generally planted once after 2-4 years. Seeds should be sowed immediately after maturity. It takes 2 to 3 years for seedlings to blossom, but they can also be cultivated.

The sowing method of Iris

1. Sowing time: Iris is generally sowed in autumn (August to September). The sowing pot should be a shallow pot with a height of about 10. The substrate should be fine sandy soil, and the seed can be soaked in warm water for one day before sowing to improve the germination rate.

2. The method of bell sowing: Iris seeds can be sowed directly, cover with a layer of fine sand after sowing, and then slowly soak the basin into clear water. After the sand is completely wet, it can be put in a position with better light.

3. Post-sowing management: iris should be soaked in water when it is found that the surface of the basin soil is dry after sowing. Seedlings usually emerge 7-10 days after sowing. If you do not sow seeds in flowerpots, you can use fine-eye spray bottles or sprayers to supply water.

The planting method of Iris

1. Soil: Iris should choose clayey loam rich in humus or alkaline soil mixed with limestone, and apply rotten compost and a small amount of bone powder and plant ash as base fertilizer before planting. In addition, irises should not be planted too deep, and the roots should be pressed.

2. Temperature: Iris likes the moist environment with plenty of sunshine, and the optimum growth temperature is 15: 17 ℃. If the light is too strong, it should be shaded properly, and if the humidity is too high, the humidity can be reduced by heating and ventilation.

3. Watering: irises should be watered once after planting, and then can be watered according to the dry and wet condition of the soil. Generally, it is better to dry the soil slightly, but avoid stagnant water or long-term excessive moisture. In order to keep the plant beautiful, the leaves of the plant can be cleaned.

4. Fertilization: the iris flower was topdressing twice in spring and autumn, the application rate was 60 g / m2, 4 parts of bone meal, 2 parts of calcium superphosphate, 1 part of potassium sulfate and 1 part of ammonium sulfate were used in spring, and 4 parts of bone meal, 2 parts of calcium superphosphate and 1 part of potassium sulfate were used in autumn.

5. Diseases: the diseases that are easy to occur in the process of iris culture are mainly soft rot. If soft rot is found in the plant, the plant should be dug up in time, the rotten part should be removed, and the planting site or pot should be changed for transplanting.

6. Insect pests: the main pest of iris is bean beetle, which is mainly treated by artificially killing adults and poisoning larvae. 250 times 25% wettable imidophos can be infused to prevent underground pests, and withered leaves should be cleaned to destroy branches in winter.
