Taboos of raising cyclamen in winter
Cyclamen, alias turnip and begonia, rabbit flower and so on, is a kind of primrose family, which is more hardy. Unlike most other flowers, cyclamen will be in a semi-dormant state in summer, and the temperature above 35 ℃ is easy to rot or even die, while it can resist the low temperature of 0 ℃ in winter. Thus it can be seen that cyclamen can also produce bright flowers if properly maintained in winter. Let's take a look at what breeding taboos cyclamen have in winter:
First, did not move into the room in time
We all know that this kind of flower is hardy, but that doesn't mean it has to be raised outdoors in winter. The most comfortable temperature of this safflower in winter is actually 12-16 ℃. If you want them to blossom as scheduled, you need to improve them a little bit, preferably to 18-22 ℃. Therefore, friends who can't meet the requirements outside in winter must put them indoors. Once they reach 5 ℃, they will grow very slowly, there will be very few flowers, or even there is no way to blossom, even if a few flowers, the color is not as bright as normal.
Do not fertilize too much
If there is no blossom in the previous year, you can slowly increase the amount of watering in autumn, and you should put it in a sunny place in October. A little thin fertilizer can be applied before mid-December, and no fertilizer can be applied after that. The first flower usually blossoms in November, but the second time is later, usually in December. Before budding, you can use some fertilizer with more P content, so that the flowers can bloom better. If you spray a little gibberellin on the buds and stems, you can also make the flowers bloom faster.
Diseases and insects should not be ignored
There are many common diseases on this kind of flower, such as gray mold. If there are symptoms of a disease, you must not ignore them. You must put them in a place with better ventilation and a lower temperature as far as possible. Colleagues, watering should be reduced a little, and water should not be sprinkled on the leaves. Wounds should not appear during maintenance. Once they appear, they should be treated in time to prevent germs from entering the plant. If there are dead leaves, old leaves, do not need to be distressed, can be directly removed, which can greatly reduce the source of germs.
These are the taboos of cyclamen breeding in winter. Cyclamen has strong resistance to sulfur dioxide in the air, and can absorb it through leaves and convert it into non-toxic or low-toxic sulfate through oxidation. Therefore, it is suitable for home culture in the city, and can be cultivated in pots or soilless culture. But cyclamen in the absorption of toxic gases at the same time, it also has a certain degree of toxicity, accidental eating may lead to diarrhea, vomiting, skin contact may also cause skin redness, swelling and itching, domestic should pay attention to.
