Why don't pitcher plants grow cages?
Pitcher plant is a kind of special plant, which is reflected in that pitcher plant has a special organ-insect trap, which can decompose nutrients in insects and can be absorbed for their own use. As one of the few insectivorous plants, there are also many people planting them in our country. But some people wonder why they haven't seen long cages after growing their own pitcher plants for a year or two. Today, the pro-agricultural network will introduce how to raise pitcher plants to grow cages.
It takes at least 18 months for the pitcher plant to grow from sowing to long cage. if the breeding time has not reached 18 months, it has not yet reached the growth stage of the cage, and if the time has not been long, then the following reasons should be considered.
First, there are no heterosexual plants
Pitcher plants are dioecious, so there must be two plants of different genders in order to pollinate. In the wild, pitcher plants account for about 70% of males and 30% of females. Because pitcher plants grow in low latitudes, there is no obvious difference between the four seasons, so pitcher plants can blossom all year round, as long as the stem of the high bottle can be formed. If the potted pitcher plant has only one or more plants of the same sex, it is likely that it will not be able to produce a cage, so pay attention to the matching of male and female.
Second, water and fertilizer do not meet the demand for long cages
If the breeding environment does not meet the needs of pitcher plants, then pitcher plants are not easy to grow into cages. Pitcher plants like the environment with high humidity and plenty of light, and the breeding environment should not be too dry, otherwise it will not be caged. Pay attention to watering when breeding, but don't get too wet and have rotten roots.
Improper fertilization can also lead to pitcher plants not forming cages. If you apply too much fertilizer, the soil will harden, and if you apply too little fertilizer, you will not have enough nutrients to form a cage. When raising pitcher plants, it can be applied every half a month to avoid, but if it is thin fertilizer.
Third, the temperature is too low
When raising pitcher plants, if the temperature of breeding is too low, the growth will stop. The suitable temperature for the growth of pitcher plants is between 25 ℃ and 30 ℃, and the temperature should not be lower than 16 ℃ in winter, otherwise the plants will begin to stop growing.
In addition, when the weather is relatively hot, it is necessary to spray water at night to cool down to ensure a large temperature difference between day and night, which is conducive to the growth of pitcher plants.
IV. Long-term change of position
If you often change the growth position of the pitcher plant, it is also possible not to end the cage, so do not often change the environment for your pitcher plant, even if your current environment is not very ideal. As long as you patiently wait for it to adapt to the surrounding environment, it will end continuously.
The above is the reason why there is no long cage for the pitcher plant arranged by the pro-agricultural network. The pitcher plant likes the hot and humid environment and is more suitable for planting in the south of China. If the growth environment is suitable, the pitcher plant can also grow very big. therefore, when planting, it is best to choose a suitable location for its growth, and then do not change its growth environment at will.
