The distribution of sugarcane is mainly between 33 °N and 30 °S, and the area is concentrated between 25 °S and N, which is suitable for planting in places with fertile soil, abundant sunshine and large temperature difference between winter and summer. China's Taiwan, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and other southern tropical areas are widely planted, let's take a look at the planting time of sugarcane!

Planting time of sugarcane

The spring sowing time of sugarcane in the main producing areas in China is from the end of January to the middle of March, early in the south and late in the north, but not later than mid-April, May to mid-July, autumn sowing from the end of August to the end of September, and mid-December.

Planting conditions of sugarcane

Sugarcane is a temperature-loving and light-loving crop, with an annual accumulated temperature of 5500 ℃-8500 ℃, a frost-free period of more than 330 days, an average annual air humidity of 60%, an annual precipitation of 800-1200mm, and sunshine hours of more than 1195 hours. According to the relationship between sugarcane growth, yield formation, sugar content and climate, the active accumulated temperature of daily average temperature ≥ 20 ℃ and the annual extreme minimum temperature (Tm), which are the main limiting factors restricting sugarcane overwintering and perennial growth, were used as sugarcane climate division indexes, which were divided into the following four sugarcane planting climate zones.

1. The accumulated temperature is above 5000 ℃, and Tm ≥-2 ℃ is the most suitable climate area for planting.

2. The accumulated temperature is 4000-5000 ℃, and the suitable climate area is-5 ℃≤ Tm ≤-2 ℃.

3. The accumulated temperature is in the range of 3000-5000 ℃, and the sub-suitable climate area is-5 ℃≤ Tm ≤-2 ℃.

4. The accumulated temperature ≥ 3000-4000 ℃,-8 ℃≤ Tm ≤-2 ℃ is the planting climate zone.

The four sugarcane planting climate zones are concentrated in the mid-subtropical, south-subtropical and tropical monsoon climate regions. Among them, the most suitable climate areas are basically located in the south of 24 °north latitude.

Planting techniques of Sugarcane

1. Deep ploughing: planting machine ploughing requires two ploughs and two harrows with a depth of 50 centimeters, the soil should be loose, and the depth of sugarcane ditch should be up to 30 centimeters.

2. Shallow species: the depth of sugarcane returning to soil cover is generally about 5 cm.

3. Wide row: the row spacing of sugarcane planting should be 90-100 cm, which is beneficial to ventilation and field management after planting.

4. Close planting: 5-6 cane seeds per 100cm in planting ditch and 3000-3500 double-bud seedlings per mu.

5. Apply sufficient base fertilizer: 1000-2000 kg of farm manure per mu. 100 kg of calcium superphosphate, 25 kg of urea and 15 kg of potassium chloride were mixed into the sugarcane ditch after 7-15 days.

6. Seed soaking: selecting full, pest-free and injury-free twin-bud seedlings and soaking seeds with clear water or 2% lime water for 1-2 days can improve the drought resistance of sugarcane seeds and achieve the effect of eliminating diseases and insect pests.

7. the next method: the sugarcane seeds should be placed flat in the planting ditch, and the buds should be on both sides. When returning to the soil to cover the seeds, the seedlings should be gently pressed into the soil, and then returned to the soil to facilitate rooting.

8. Control underground pests: in order to prevent underground cricket grubs and sugarcane borer, 2-3 kg Milol per mu should be applied when planting.

9. Chemical weeding before sprouting: before the sugarcane seedlings were unearthed after planting, 40% atrazine 25 ml plus 200 ml atrazine per mu and 50-60 kg of water were sprayed with topsoil to control the growth of weeds.
