Last Updated: 2024/12/23, Desert rose sowing time in spring and summer, in advance to prepare a suitable degree of looseness and wettability of the culture medium, and then spread the seeds on top, and then covered with a layer of fine soil, waiting for its germination.

First, sowing time

Desert rose is a drought-tolerant plant, so the sowing time is stable in climate, high temperature in spring and summer, autumn and winter temperature is too low, even if the desert rose seeds will germinate, but the survival rate is very low. So when sowing, try to do it in spring and summer.

2. Sowing method

1. Culture base

Its seed cultivation base has high requirements for looseness and wettability, and it is best to mix some ceramsite when preparing the soil, which can increase the looseness of the soil and make it more breathable. After the soil is ready, mix the soil with water before sowing until the soil is moist and the color deepens slightly.

2. Sowing seeds

When sowing, the seeds need to be laid flat on the cultivation base and do not need to be buried deeply. The culture medium of ten square centimeters should not exceed ten seeds at most, because if there are too many seeds, the growth space will be limited and the seedlings will not develop well. After the seeds are laid out, spread a layer of fine soil evenly on it. After the above work is done, pour water once and wait for it to germinate.

3. Nursing after sowing

After sowing, put the cultivation plate in a place with bright light and good ventilation, and the window to the south is the most suitable, and be careful not to let it be exposed to the sun. Keep its growth environment temperature around 21 degrees.

4. Intermediate seedlings

After the seeds germinate and grow into seedlings, the seedlings that are not growing well and unhealthy should be pulled out, leaving room for growth and nutrients for healthy seedlings, and after they have grown four tender leaves, they can be transplanted into pots.
