Cymbidium is a common flower variety in our life, its leaves are opposite, neatly arranged, the leaves are thick, and the leaves are shaped like swords. when they are not flowering, they can also be appreciated as foliage plants. But in the process of breeding, we often encounter the situation of crooked leaves, which greatly reduces the ornamental value of orchids. Below, the pro-agricultural network will introduce to you the treatment methods after the leaves of orchids grow askew.

The leaf of Cymbidium is crooked, which is probably caused by the uneven light on both sides of the leaf. If it is not corrected, the leaf of Cymbidium will grow more and more crooked because of the action of gravity, and finally it will be completely askew at one end, so when it comes to this situation, the most important thing is to correct it in time. The pro-agricultural network introduces three correction methods here.

1. Turn the basin regularly

First of all, we can start from the reason, because the balcony of our home usually only sees light on one side, plants grow fast on one side affected by phototaxis. Therefore, we have to ensure that both ends of the orchid can be evenly illuminated. First of all, we can make the leaves of the orchid facing the north and south ends, and then turn the basin once a week, with an angle of 180 degrees each time, so as to maintain the plant type. avoid the leaves growing askew.

Second, tin foil shading

If the plant shape is relatively large, you can choose to wrap it with tin foil, so that it will not cause any damage to the leaves, and the position of the package is the prominent side, so that the sun cannot penetrate through, and the growth rate of the prominent side will slow down. when the growth on both sides is about the same, you can take off the tin foil and let the gentleman orchid grow normally.

This method can be used with the rotating basin, so that the effect is more obvious, after the prominent side is covered, the other side is fully exposed to the sun, and the growth will be faster.

III. Foam mat

You can prepare a foam box, cut the foam into small pieces, clip it between the leaves, and use tin foil to block the light on the prominent side, which can enlarge the gap between the leaves, enhance the light transmittance, and make the weaker side grow faster.

These are the ways to deal with the crooked orchids introduced by the pro-agricultural network, hoping to help you. It should be noted that even if the orchids return to their normal posture, the regular turning of the pots still has to be done. Only in this way can we ensure that the lights on both sides of the orchids are consistent, so that they will not grow crooked again.
