Leek belongs to Liliaceae perennial root vegetables, strong adaptability, cold and heat resistance, cultivated everywhere in our country, many areas in the south can be produced perennially, although the aboveground parts of the north die in winter, the underground part goes into dormancy. After the topsoil is thawed in spring, it can continue to germinate and grow. Let's take a look at when the leek will be sown.

When will the leek be sown?

Leek soil can be sowed at any time after thawing in the Autumn Equinox, generally mainly in spring. Spring sowing leek in the Huang-Huai River Basin is from the first ten days of April to the middle of April, from December to February in the south and from May to June in the north, the ground temperature is stable above 12 ℃, and the daily average temperature is 15: 18 ℃. The use of strip sowing, dry seeds per mu of 6kg dry seeds, can plant 6000 square meters of vegetable land, immediately after sowing with plastic film, heat preservation and temperature, 70% of the seedlings when the top soil film uncover.

What are the sowing dates of leek?

1. Spring sowing: spring sowing leek should be early rather than late, and the local temperature in spring should be stable at 5: 10 ℃. At this time, the land is not fully melted, and the resurgence period is not moist to the surface, so it is easy to emerge seedlings and avoid grass damage.

2. Summer sowing: leek sowing in summer is generally sown after cucumbers and tomatoes go on strike, when the temperature is high, drought and waterlogging occur easily, the sowing amount is about 1/3 larger than that in spring, and the soil cover is not easy to be too thick, keeping the soil moist, which is conducive to the emergence of the whole seedling.

3. Autumn sowing: Chinese chives are generally sown before and after the Beginning of Autumn, the sowing amount is twice as large as that in spring, the management is mainly dry and wet, and attention should be paid to grass damage in the later stage, but autumn sowing is generally not recommended.

What is the growth period of leek?

1. Germination period: it usually takes 10-20 days from sowing to the first true leaf to unfold. In this period, we should pay attention to the sowing quality and create good conditions for germination and emergence.

2. Seedling stage: it takes 40-60 days from the first true leaf of Chinese chive to be planted in the seedling stage, in which the shoot growth is slow and the root system grows fast. In production, attention should be paid to weeding, inter-seedling, proper irrigation and topdressing to promote the growth of seedlings.

3. Vegetative period: from vegetable planting to flower bud differentiation to leek vegetative growth peak period, when plants grow new roots and leaves one after another after a short period of slow seedling, and enter the long life period, fertilizer and water management should be strengthened in this period.

What are the conditions for growing leeks?

1. Temperature: leek likes cold and cool, but it is cold-resistant and heat-resistant. The optimum temperature for seed germination is above 12 ℃, the growth temperature is 15-25 ℃, and the underground part can withstand lower temperature.

2. Light: Chinese chives have strong negative tolerance, such as weak light, less photosynthate accumulation, few and weak tillers, low yield and easy premature senescence. But the light is too strong, the temperature is too high, there are many fibers, and the quality is poor.

3. Moisture: the suitable air relative humidity of leek is 60% to 70%, and the soil moisture is 80% to 90% of the maximum capacity in the field.

4. Soil: Chinese chive has strong adaptability to soil texture, and the suitable pH is 5.5-6.5, which requires a large amount of fertilizer and has strong fertilizer tolerance.
