Soft jujube kiwifruit is a large deciduous vine of the Actinidia family. The branchlets are basically glabrous or scattered when young are thin soft tomentose or velvet, the leaves are ovate, oblong, broad-ovate to nearly round, the fruit is spherical to columnar-oblong, green-yellow or purplish red when ripe, rich in nutrition, with high cultivation value. Let's take a look at the planting techniques of soft jujube kiwifruit.

Growth habits of Actinidia jujuba

The soft jujube kiwifruit is born in the fertile soil in the needle, broad-leaved mixed forest and mixed wood forest on the shady slope, and some are born in the place with plenty of water on the sunny slope, like the cool and humid climate, or beside the mountain gully and stream, they climb on the broad-leaved trees, and the branches and vines are mainly distributed in the upper part of the tree crown. It is distributed from the northernmost bank of Heilongjiang to the Wuling mountains in the south of Guangxi.

Propagation methods of Actinidia jujuba

Soft jujube kiwifruit seedlings were raised by hardwood cutting. wild, robust, full bud eyes and unsprouted 1-year-old branches were collected from mid-February to mid-March, stored in low temperature and wet sand or stored in cellar. Cuttings with 3-4 lateral buds were cut into 15 cm in length before cutting. The upper cut is 1 cm away from the upper bud, and the lower cut is obliquely cut into a horseshoe shape on the back of the bud. Soak the oblique end of the cuttings in 50 mg / kg aqueous solution of ABT1 for 4 hours. The cutting depth is that the sprouting bud eye left at the upper end of the cuttings should be located 1 cm below the bed surface.

Planting techniques of soft jujube kiwifruit

1. Land selection and land preparation: soft jujube kiwifruit is planted in semi-sunny slope mountains with loose soil, deep soil layer, high humus content, good light conditions and gentle slope. after land selection, strip soil preparation is carried out with a depth of 2030 cm. Apply fully mature organic fertilizer 15 tons / ha.

2. Transplanting and planting: soft jujube kiwifruit was planted according to plant spacing of 2.0-2.5 m and row spacing of 4-5 m after soil thawing. When planting, dig the planting pit and return a small amount of soil, put the seedlings into the pit, stretch the root system, return to soil for half of the seedling height, gently firm, irrigate twice and then cover the soil.

3. Male and female configuration: Actinidia chinensis is female and male dioecious, so pollination trees should be arranged carefully, and the ratio of female to male should be 8:1. Newly planted seedlings, timely watering to prevent drought, combined with irrigation appropriate amount of topdressing. If there is too much Rain Water, it is necessary to drain waterlogging in time.

4. Setting up scaffolding: soft jujube kiwifruit needs to set up scaffolding for climbing. Its horizontal branches have more flower buds than upright branches and are easy to manage and pick, so they are suitable for scaffolding cultivation. The wooden poles of the scaffolding are 1.6 to 2.0 meters high, with crossbars or wire between the vertical poles.

5. Ploughing management: Actinidia chinensis was loosened 2 or 3 times a year around the cultivation hole combined with weeding to increase soil temperature and soil permeability, and the loose soil area gradually expanded with the expansion of tree crown. When weeding and loosening the soil, we should pay attention to avoid damage, keep the soil near the rhizosphere loose and free of weeds.

6. Water and fertilizer management: soft jujube kiwifruit likes temperature and humidity, timely watering in case of drought, timely elimination of stagnant water in case of rain, and anti-freezing water before winter. Fertilization should be applied frequently, less and shallowly, the first topdressing should be carried out during the period from sprouting in spring to the beginning of shoot growth, and another topdressing should be carried out in late July.
