Last Updated: 2024/11/22, The Beginning of Autumn, it's a good time to sow again. Now sow a handful of grass flower seeds and you can open a large area in a hundred days or so! But sowing needs to be skillful. Today, Huahua will explain in detail the sowing methods of all kinds of grass flowers.

Don't cover these grass flowers, or they won't sprout.

Why can't it be covered?

In order to promote germination, many people will cover the seeds with a layer of wet paper towels, or cover them with a layer of soil, but do not realize that some small grass flower seeds cannot be covered at all, but they cannot sprout once they are covered.

Which seeds cannot be covered?

Such as petunia, Petunia, Platycodon grandiflorum, Liuxili, bluebells and other grass flowers, the seeds are so small that they need to see light when they germinate, so they cannot be covered when sowing.

In addition, pill seeds can not be covered, what is meant by pelletization? That is, several small seeds are wrapped in a piece of medicinal powder, which is called pelletization, and the pelleted seeds are still smaller than sesame seeds.

Note: when buying seeds, you must be careful not to buy fake seeds, such as six times the profit, the seeds full of stars, are too small to pinch up, similar to dust, all large seeds are fake.

Sowing method (take Petunia as an example)

1. Preparation: the slightly acidic sandy soil with loose, fertile and good drainage is installed in the seedling basin.

2. Sowing: sow the seeds directly on the surface of the soil, water them thoroughly, keep them completely moist, and put them on a well-ventilated windowsill!

3. Sprouting and growing roots: it can sprout in about a week, spray water every day after budding, keep ventilation and astigmatism, and white roots can grow in about 20 days.

4. Pseudo-planting: the seedlings are so small that they can not be planted directly in a large basin. Pseudo-planting can greatly improve the survival rate. Move the seedlings together with the soil into small flowerpots or disposable paper cups, water thoroughly, ventilated and maintained, see more light every day, and spray water sooner or later.

5. Planting: when the leaves of the seedlings are full of cups, they can be planted. If the flowerpot is above 20cm, the soil can be mixed with garden soil, perlite and coal.

The paper cup will be torn open directly, even the soil with seedlings implanted in the prepared basin soil, after planting, first put in the shade for 1 or 2 days, and then put on the balcony with sufficient light, often pick the heart.

6. Maintenance: thin nitrogen fertilizer and water should be applied every 10 days, potassium dihydrogen phosphate should be applied before flowering, and thin fertilizer should be applied frequently.

These grass flowers need to soak their seeds before they can sprout.

Soaking seeds to accelerate germination

Some flowers have thick seeds and a long dormant period, so they are not easy to sprout. They need to soak seeds before sowing, such as lavender, sage, sage and so on.

Seed soaking technique

Soak the seeds in warm water for 12 hours, then soak them in gibberellin in 20~50ppm for 2 hours.

Sowing method (take lavender as an example)

1. Put the loose and breathable nutritious soil in a small basin, fill it until 8 minutes full, pour water thoroughly, and sow seeds.

2. After sowing, there is no need to cover the soil, but it can be covered with a film to moisturize. Several holes are poked on the film and breathable, and it will sprout in about 2 weeks.

3. At seedling stage, we should spray water frequently, increase light gradually, fertilize mainly with nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer, and transplant when the seedlings grow to about 10cm.

These grass flowers are slightly covered with soil and have a high germination rate and survive.

Such as geranium, Corydalis and other grass flowers, the seed is slightly larger, germination does not need light, slightly cover when sowing, can improve the germination rate.

Sowing method

1. Prepare the loose and fertile garden soil. After watering thoroughly, sow the seeds, then cover it with a layer of soil slightly, keep it moist every day, and sprout in about 10 days.

2. After the seedlings have 2 leaves, you can move the flowerpot to the sun and increase the amount of water to keep it ventilated.

3. After the leaves in the small pot are full, you can transplant it to the large pot, during which you can apply a little thin nitrogen fertilizer.

4. the maintenance process can be picked and trimmed at any time, and it can blossom into a big bouquet in 3 to 4 months.

After the geranium is sown in spring, it is difficult to spend summer, and now is a good time to sow seeds.

In addition to the above, there is another kind of flower-- the seed skin is wrinkled. It needs to soak the seeds, peel off the soft skin, sprout with vermiculite or wet paper towels, sprout new buds and transplant them into the pot.
