Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Gardenia does not blossom for many reasons, if caused by improper fertilization, the need for reasonable fertilization, flowering and growing period to ensure that once a week fertilization; if caused by lack of light, need to appropriately increase light; if the soil PH value is not suitable to cause, the need for soil acidification; if not caused by pruning, need appropriate pruning.

I. rational fertilization

1, the reason: gardenia is a fertilizer-loving plant, especially in the growing period and flowering period, the demand for nutrients is greater, if nutrients can not keep up, gardenia will not blossom.

2. Solution: fertilization should be guaranteed twice a month at ordinary times, and once a week during flowering and growing periods. The amount of fertilization should not be too much, too much will burn the root.

Second, increase the light

1. Reason: sun-loving plants will affect their health if lack of light, gardenia is such a plant, lack of light will lead to it can not blossom.

2, the solution: every day to ensure that it can have 8 hours of natural light, but gardenia can not be exposed to strong light, so at noon when the sun needs to be properly shaded, other times do not do special treatment.

III. Acidified soil

1. Reason: Gardenia jasminoides is an acidic plant, so acidic soil is more suitable for its growth, while alkaline soil does not accord with its growth characteristics.

2. Solution: often test the PH value of the soil. If the soil becomes alkaline, add some rotten leaf fertilizer to the soil, or pour a few drops of vinegar to make it acidic.

4. Proper pruning

1. Reason: the branches and leaves of gardenia grow very fast, if not pruned, the nutrients of the plant are too scattered to cause it to blossom.

2. Solution: properly prune gardenia, cut off all the dead branches and leaves, so that nutrients are more concentrated, which is conducive to plant flowering.
