Causes and solving measures of infertility in cows
Cattle farms are mainly reproduced by cows, so cows occupy a very important position, but many times cows are infertile and do not get pregnant after repeated breeding. Is this the reason? How to solve the problem? Let's take a look at the causes and solutions of cow infertility.
1. Congenital infertility
Due to congenital or acquired and genetic reasons, many cows lead to abnormal reproductive organs, or developmental malformations lead to infertility.
Solution: for the infertile cows caused by congenital diseases, it is recommended to eliminate and replace the new cows to breed as soon as possible.
2. Nutritional infertility
Cows need a lot of nutrition when growing. If the cows are fed mainly by rough feeding, the proportion of concentrate is insufficient, resulting in inadequate nutrition and infertility. On the contrary, if the whole diet is fed with concentrate, which leads to excess nutrition, it will also lead to infertility.
Solution: under-nutrition should strengthen supplementary feeding and provide adequate nutrients, but limited feeding should be implemented to avoid overnutrition, which is counterproductive. Generally, the heifer is fed roughly with 4-6kg every day, while the concentrate is within 3kg.
3. Managerial infertility
Poor environmental hygiene conditions in the enclosure and improper feeding methods will cause infertility in cows, as well as the long-term implementation of the tying mode, which will lead to less exercise and infertility. After giving birth, the cow should be weaned in time, otherwise the breast-feeding period of the previous fetus is longer and the cow's physical function may decline, which may lead to the next infertility.
Solutions: do a good job in the sanitary environment of the enclosure, regularly clean and disinfect the enclosure, do a good job of ventilation, increase the amount of exercise of the cow, and weaning in time.
4. Senile infertility
Not only cows, but other animals and livestock have this condition. When they reach the age of aging, they will be infertile. This is because the reproductive organs of cows are shrinking and their reproductive function is declining, so they will be infertile.
Solution: as with the causes of congenital infertility, the aging cows should be eliminated in time and the young and energetic cows should be replaced.
5. Disease infertility
During the period of pregnancy and lactation, cows are weak and susceptible to diseases. The most common diseases are uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries caused by miscarriage and stillbirth, and many diseases can cause infertility in cows.
Solving measures: to do a good job in disease prevention and treatment, especially in postpartum nursing, washing the uterus of cows with normal saline during insemination to prevent abortion and stillbirth.
