Ginkgo biloba is a green plant often seen in cities now. Its growth cycle is very slow. There is a ginkgo tree at the door of the editor's home. It has been growing for 20 years, and its trunk size can be held with both hands. What the editor brings to you today is the breeding method of ginkgo biloba.

1. Cutting

Cutting is cutting branches from ginkgo trees that have been growing for many years and inserting them into the soil to make the branches take root and sprout in the soil to form a new tree. Cuttings are divided into old wood cuttings and tender wood cuttings. Most of the old wood cuttings are used to cultivate a large number of trees for a variety of commercial purposes, while twigs are used for family and personal planting. Old wood cuttings are suitable for spring. Choose better growing branches on big trees and cut them into cuttings of about 20 centimeters. After cutting, rinse thoroughly with water and soak with ABT rooting powder. Then insert it into the soil and it will take root and sprout in about a month. And then carry on the normal maintenance management. Softwood cutting is to cut the twigs into the container and change water every 3 days until the roots grow and then move into the soil.

2. Ramet

Ramet propagation is generally needed to cultivate urban greening, because ginkgo trees sprout more often, especially trees that are about 15 years old. The method is to clean up the soil around the roots of the tree, cut off the tillers from the tree with a sharp one, and then plant them in other places for cultivation and management. this method can generally bear fruit earlier.

3. Grafting

Grafting is generally used to produce ginkgo fruits in large quantities, and the grafting time is generally in summer, but it should be noted that grafting can not be carried out at very high temperature, especially at noon, not even on rainy days. The main method is to cut off a leaf on a well-developed branch, leaving only the petiole, wrapping the cut leaf interface in wet cloth or putting it in water, and it is most appropriate to choose cutting seedlings as grafting objects. after grafting, the interface should be sealed with plastic film and other film cloth, and then normal maintenance and management will be carried out in 6-7 years.

4. Sowing seeds

Sowing is mainly used to build greening and bonsai. The seeds are harvested in autumn, peeled off, dried, and sown in winter or spring. When sowing, put the seeds in a dug ditch or hole with a depth of 3-4 cm, cover it with soil, step on the soil thickly and firmly, and the saplings can grow to about 30 cm after a year, and you can begin to transplant. However, the drainage system of the sowing land should be good and should not produce stagnant water, otherwise the saplings will rot.

Ginkgo biloba reproduction methods are almost the above four, as to which way is better depends on the direction of your planting. If you want to sell trees, use cuttings, and old cuttings. If it is the main production of fruit, then use the method of grafting, the four methods vary from person to person, I hope these can help you.
