Carambola looks very exquisite, a small piece of cut is a five-pointed star, the color is also very good, so it gives people a very good feeling of appetite, but carambola in recent years are relatively rare, because fewer and fewer growers, we are more inclined to plant cherries, blueberries and other more popular fruits, resulting in a reduction in carambola production Even those who grow carambola do not know much about the planting technology of carambola, so the yield is not very high. Today, the editor wants to share with you several problems that need to be paid attention to when planting carambola. I hope I can help you.

1. Planting environment

The environment for carambola planting should be reflected in temperature, light, humidity, soil and so on. The environment most suitable for carambola growth is generally warm throughout the year, and it is most appropriate to keep it between 20 and 30 degrees. The lowest temperature for carambola growth should not be lower than 10 degrees, otherwise the fruit trees will be frostbitten and the fruit will fall off. Although carambola likes warmth, it does not mean that it likes the hot sun, so it is not suitable to plant in places with more sunshine and too strong light, otherwise it will be burned out. As for the soil choice of carambola planting is also more important, if the soil is not right, then carambola will be sour and the yield is not high, generally choose to plant in the soil with sufficient soil fertility and better drainage and permeability.

2. Planting density

In the process of growing carambola, the permeability of the whole garden must be good, so the planting density should be reasonable. Generally, adult carambola trees grow luxuriantly. So we generally plant carambola trees in the proportion of 40 to 50 carambola trees per mu, that is, the average density is three or four meters between trees, and four or five meters between rows. In this way, after the carambola trees grow up, there is still some space between them, the ventilation performance is better, and the yield will not be affected.

3. Scientific fertilization

Fertilization after removing the base fertilizer is also more important. Generally, when planting seedlings for one to two years, we need to apply fertilizer many times a year, not too much each time. About 35 to 40 days after planting, each carambola seedling in the garden is poured with a little human and animal manure and urine, and applied every 20 days or so, and a little urea, phosphate, potash and so on can be gradually added to it. This continues until the carambola fruit. When it comes to fruit, we need to apply fertilizer at least five times a year. The first time is when the carambola sprouts and blossoms in spring, applying an average of 5,000 jin of phosphate fertilizer and 3,000 jin of human and animal manure per mu, which can promote the growth of branches and leaves and promote flowering. The second time is when fruit setting is carried out after flowering, we generally use 1000 jin of human and animal manure and phosphate fertilizer to protect fruit to improve the fruit setting rate. The third fertilization is after the success of fruit setting, mainly to promote the growth of the fruit, and to make the fruit fuller, the type and amount of fertilization is the same as the second time. When the fruit is ripe, a ripening fertilizer is needed, which is usually irrigated with urea and water. the last fertilization is to enter the dormant period after the fruit is harvested, which is to maintain the carambola tree so that it can grow normally and blossom and bear fruit in the coming year, mainly using organic fertilizer.

4. Daily management

In the growth process of carambola, we often carry out professional pruning, generally pruning the rough dead branches or old branches, and then where the branches and leaves are denser, we first retain the branches with more fruit, and cut off the branches that bear little or no fruit, and then it will grow new branches and increase fruit yield. Secondly, during the fruiting period, if the carambola tree bears more fruit, so that the fruit tree can not maintain normal growth and provide enough nutrients for the growth of the fruit, then if the fruit is not reduced, the yield and quality of the whole tree may not be too good, so we will use sticks to knock down some fruits that are small and unattractive or with diseases and insect pests. This can improve economic benefits.

The above is the pro-agricultural network to tell you about carambola planting need to pay attention to several matters, of which the most important is the planting density and fertilization methods, generally as long as these two points are dealt with well, then the yield of carambola will not be too low.
