Pumpkin is a kind of melon and fruit vegetable with high edible value. Pumpkins are planted in many areas of our country. Sometimes pumpkins bloom a lot but do not bear melons all the time. The yield is not very high, but the melons planted by some people are large and sweet. Today, let's follow the pro-agricultural network to see how others achieve high yield and high quality.

1. Land selection and preparation

Pumpkin has a strong ability to resist drought, but the requirement for water is relatively strict, and water should not be too much, so when selecting land, we should pay attention to selecting land with higher topography and better drainage and irrigation. You can't plant in the soil where water is easy to accumulate and water is not easy to drain. When preparing the soil, pay attention to ploughing as deep as possible, and sprinkle farm manure as base fertilizer to ensure that the soil is fertile enough to supply the growth of pumpkins.

2. Sowing method

There are two ways of sowing pumpkins. The first is direct sowing. According to a certain interval between the whole fields (usually the distance between rows is two to three meters, and the distance between plants is 50 to 70 centimeters), put three to five seeds in a hole, and then cover the seeds with soil. The second method is transplanting. First of all, the melon seedlings will be cultivated in a piece of land until they grow to 10 centimeters of dance, and then we can transplant them. After transplanting, we must remember to water them until they grow new roots.

3. Sowing technology

The high-yield technology of pumpkin generally adopts the method of parallel grafting of multiple plants, that is, when the pumpkin seedlings grow to about 50 or 60 centimeters, cut off the tips of the two neighboring seedlings with a knife, and then tie up the two seedlings that have been cut off their tips. Generally, new seedlings will grow at the interface after two or three days, and when the new seedlings grow to 50 or 60 centimeters, the seedlings will be inoculated, and so on, and the excess vines should be removed in time.

4. Field management

When the melon seedling grows up to about two meters, we should remove the top of the melon vine in time, so that it will grow more vines, which will help to increase the yield. at the same time, we can build some shelves to help the melon seedlings to grow on the shelf. this can also avoid the injury caused by vines hitting Rain Water by hand, reduce diseases and insects, and improve the probability of melon formation. One of the more important points in field management is fertilization, which is usually done after planting and when the melon vine grows to about 20 centimeters. The second is pollination, in order to improve the melon setting rate, we will use artificial pollination. The third is to press the vine, which usually has to wait until after the first batch of melon fruit, when some of the vines turn yellow, so that it will grow new vines and prolong life, thus increasing the yield.

5. Pre-disease

Pumpkin usually disease will be relatively few, the most common is powdery mildew, but its harm is very great, it will directly affect the growth of pumpkin, resulting in poor quality of pumpkin, so timely treatment, we generally use spray 2000 times of Fenru Ning EC, 200 times of water agent or 1500 times of spray.

These are the high-yielding pumpkin planting methods brought by the pro-farm network. If you want to know more about agriculture, please remember to follow us.
