Edamame, also known as vegetable soybean, is rich in nutrition and is cultivated all over our country, but its planting time will be slightly different due to the climate between the north and the south, so when is it suitable to grow edamame beans? What are the planting methods? Let's take a look at the planting time and methods of edamame beans.

Planting time

There are many varieties of edamame beans, and different varieties adapt to different environments, so the planting time is different. Early-maturing varieties are planted in spring, when the temperature is lower, so it is necessary to sow and raise seedlings, generally sowing in 2-3, planting at the end of March, and harvesting in June-July. Mid-maturing varieties are planted in summer, can be directly sown in April-May and harvested in 7-8; late-maturing varieties are planted in autumn, direct seeding in June-July, harvest in 9-10, and planting can be delayed in the south, sowing in July-8 and harvesting in September-November.

Planting method

1. Soil selection and land preparation

Select fertile, deep, well-drained soil plots, turn the soil deeply in the first winter, and use light to whiten the soil, which can eliminate some of the germs in the soil. In combination with soil preparation before sowing, farm manure can be used with organic fertilizer.

2. Sowing seeds

The way of sowing is hole sowing, with 4-5 seeds per hole, about 6000-7000 per mu. When sowing, it should be reasonably close-planted and should not be too thin or too dense. Cover the soil in time after sowing, pay attention not to cover the soil too deep, the seeds of edamame beans are larger, and the top soil strength after emergence is poor, so it is necessary to sow lightly, and it is best to cover the soil around 2cm. After two days of soil mulching, a herbicide was sprayed to prevent the growth of dangerous seedlings.

3. Field management

Phosphorus and potassium fertilizer has obvious yield-increasing effect, so more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied, mainly base fertilizer, supplemented by topdressing, lack of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, slow plant growth and yellowing symptoms of leaves. When the edamame bean grows to a certain extent, it can be heart-picked, which can not only prevent it from growing, but also make it mature precociously, and increase its yield.

The above are the planting time and methods of edamame beans brought to you by the pro-agricultural network. Edamame beans have good disease resistance and generally only insect pests, so we should pay attention to them in the process of planting.
